The Korda Compac Retainer Sling has been designed, developed, and stringently tested with some of Europe's largest carp. In development for over 4 years by Danny Fairbrass and his team, the Compac Retainer Sling is the very best you can buy. With fish safety at the very forefront of the design, every element has been fine-tuned ensuring the safest product possible.

A full mesh design removes any potential pinch points on the fish, minimising stress and discomfort, while offering superior support and protection during the weighing stage.

The rigid aluminium bars are tempered for additional strength, with low profile buoyant supports keeping your capture safe and secure. We have used premium grade, light, soft mesh to cradle the fish and optimise airflow.

Every detail of the retainer has been carefully considered from the slim buoyant arms with reflective markers, to the military grade hooks to secure the 6m high-visibility cord and the machined stainless steel bank stick attachment. Each component has been proven during the extensive testing phase.

A good update for a fifty year geologist
Format: Hardcover
I wanted an update on plate tectonics as I was a geologist for 50 years and it was a theory back when I was in school particularly on mountain building I have been impressed so far I am about half way through the book and the book does a fine job of laying a solid foundation of physics and geochemistry that are the basics for the remainder of the book

An excellent introduction to plate tectonics
Format: Kindle
My rating is 4.5 stars. I dinged the book because I wanted more about geobiological evidence for and against plate tectonics, and because it didn't mention other global tectonics, such as single-lid tectonics. Read Robert Stern's article in the May 2025 issue of the GSA bulletin.

Arrived a day early but also arrived damaged. Got this as a reference book before starting college, kinda sucks that it's already damaged.
