Recorded at Westbeach Recorders in California during November 2000, the album derives its title from the Book of Revelation, specifically referencing chapter 11 and the climactic sounding of the final (seventh) trumpet, symbolizing the end of the world. Notably, the band achieved this momentous creation with a meager budget of $2,000.

During the recording process, The Rev showcased his exceptional drumming skills by completing all the drum tracks in one seamless take, while the remaining band members layered their respective parts on top. Originally, Zacky Vengeance handled lead guitar duties.
