Synopsis:

Erwin Olaf (1959–2023) is regarded as one of the most influential photographic artists in the Netherlands. His visual language is instantly recognizable: meticulously composed, technically refined, and charged with meaning. With a sharp eye for lighting and mise-en-scène, he was able to bring aesthetics and commitment together.

Olaf was both an artist and a fighter. He stood up for the freedom to be who you are. His fight was waged not only with his camera, but also through film, sculpture, and the queer parties he organized.

The publication Erwin Olaf – Freedom offers an in-depth survey of the full reach of his rich, varied and groundbreaking work, from the early 1980s until just before his death. It is an indispensable book for anyone who views art as a catalyst for change.

With contributions by Charlotte Cotton, Gemma Rolls-Bentley, Jonathan Turner, Rein Wolfs and others, as well as conversations with Taco Dibbits, Hans van Manen, Charl Landvreugd and Shirley den Hartog and Els Wuyts.

This book is published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name in Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam from October 11, 2025, to March 1, 2026.

Fave dog toy!
Color: Betty Bigfoot
Great toy! My dog prefers the ball inside which is great for chewing on, bouncing, and playing fetch. Very thick rubber, lasts a good while. The outside cover is pretty tough, but for those who like a challenge it should last a little while. It really depends on how determined and fierce the dog is about chewing! We’ve had 3 of them. We always keep a back up for when one expires!!

Perfect for Heavy Chewers—Huge Hit in Our House!
Color: Aurora Beast
This toy is an absolute favorite in my house! My dogs are usually pretty picky and can destroy most toys within minutes, but this one has seriously impressed me. It’s super durable while still being soft enough for them to carry around and cuddle with. They’re completely obsessed—whether they’re chewing on it, tossing it around, or just walking around proudly with it in their mouths. It keeps them entertained for a long time, which is a huge win. Definitely worth it if you have strong chewers and want something that actually lasts. I’ll be buying more from this line for sure!

SUPERB FOR AGGRESSIVE CHEWERS
Color: Betty Bigfoot
Our Silver Lab, Theo, is a VERY aggressive chewer who loves destroying balls! We bought Barkbox Betty for Theo’s Birthday, and it was almost a week before Theo removed the cover when he discovered the ball inside and he loves it! And it’s tough design seems to be holding up! Eager to figure out if it floats! We will definitely buy this high quality toy again!

Too hard and heavy.
Color: Fowl Play
Very cute idea but my dog was not at all interested. It’s too hard for her to chew on. She didn’t even care enough about it to rip the outside. It’s hard and heavy. I will stick with the non-super chewer bark toys. They don’t last as long, but she loves them.

Tough & fun!
Color: Betty Bigfoot
This is my puppy’s favorite toy. I’ve bought 4 in case he eventually finds a way to destroy the ball because he is a 1 year old super-chewer. That said, this ball is TOUGH! It’s taken severe abuse from our dog & we couldn’t be more satisfied.
