It is entirely a light pinkish brown heartwood that even contains a small (and indistinct) patch of what appear to be burl buds (faintly visible on the far end of the left side, top photo). It has a very pleasing grain pattern throughout. I see no cracks, checks or other potential flaws.

There’s a definite quality difference between the OEM product and third party knock-offs

It’s worth getting replacement parts for your vacuum from the manufacturer. These pads are high quality. I purchased some third party ones and they fell apart after a week of use. It’s worth the extra money to have something that will last for many months when properly cared for.

Easy replacement, tear off and slap on. Can’t really go wrong. Fit is perfect. Floors started to get feel consistently again. I feel like this product is definitely overpriced for what it is.
