However, one of the greatest obstacles the Church faces is the same spirit that John The Baptist faced–The Spirit Of Religion.
Religion, in Jesus’ day was trying to take over the Kingdom of God by force. But they saw it being taken away by John The Baptist. The violent rose up and their violence actually took Jesus to the cross. But, was it over? No! Absolutely not! Jesus rose again! The Holy Spirit was poured out on the Day Of Pentecost. The Church was born! The Church kept growing by leaps and bounds and is still encompassing the world. Even today, the violent are still trying to take the Kingdom Of God by force. Religion tries to raise it’s ugly head, but the greatest force of all is the message of Jesus Christ. It still saves to the uttermost! It’s time for the Church to rise up against religion.
