Players complete to create the best adventurer they can to send deep into the dungeon, to kick down doors, kill monsters and steal treasure. Although the game takes its inspiration from Dungeon and Dragons style fantasy RPGs, this is a game that is extremely accessible and doesn't take itself too seriously. In fact, it relishes in its absurdness. You can increase your strength by wearing a chicken on your head or wearing boots of butt-kicking, you can fight a Ninja Giant or an Ooze with an Uzi.

The Need for Steed expansion pack introduces, well, steeds! And lots of them. Who wouldn't want to ride around on a Giant Mutant Gerbil, a Mighty Warhorse, a Monster Truck, or a good old fashioned Chicken? The Need for Steed expansion pack also brings in a pile of hirelings to help you hold your stuff while you're busy adventuring. Use their special abilities or just use them as cannon fodder to safe your own skin in true Munchkin style. The pack also contains a selection of new monsters to fight such as the Level 10 "Ether Bunny", over 30 new treasure cards, curses, and well, basically more of everything else that Munchkin gives you.

Why Steeds? Well, not only is riding deep into a dungeon on the back of a dragon or a raptor really cool, it's also pretty useful with all of them giving you a bonus to your attack and many giving other added extras. Why not modify your steed to your tastes? Why not just cheat? It's all possible now!

Many cards added into the dungeon from this set give you a load of (mainly steed related) bonuses, and, as this is Munchkin, some negative effects too giving the whole expansion a cohesive theme that has a subtle yet clear effect on your plays.
