Key Features

  • Classic Indian Boiling Vessel Form — The Stock Pot is the dedicated Indian boiling pot — designed with specific proportions for milk, water, and liquid-heavy preparations.
  • Tin-Safe Inner Surface — The interior tin lining prevents contact between the brass body and the liquids being heated, ensuring safety for daily boiling use.
  • All-Over Hammered Outer Texture — Artisan hammering across the 8-inch outer surface provides secure grip during pouring and adds traditional Indian craft character.
  • Wide 8-Inch Opening for Easy Use — The wide mouth simplifies filling from a tap or pot, easy stirring during heating, and safe cleaning after use.
  • Even Thermal Performance — The brass-tin combination delivers consistent heat across the base for uniform boiling without localised scorching.
  • Daily-Use Durability — Brass-tin construction withstands daily boiling heat cycles without degradation, maintaining form and function over extended use.

Description

The Indian Art Villa Hammered Brass Stock Pot with Tin Lining at 8 inches is a dedicated Indian boiling vessel — the specific pot type used for the daily ritual of boiling milk, heating water, preparing tea in bulk, and any liquid-dominant kitchen task that forms the foundation of Indian household daily cooking. The Stock Pot form is distinct from a general-purpose pot. Its proportions — wide mouth, straight sides, flat base — are specifically suited to the boiling and heating tasks it performs. The 8-inch diameter provides a generous boiling surface that accommodates daily family quantities of milk and water without requiring the volume to be split across multiple vessels. The tin interior lining is the critical functional element. Brass alone would interact chemically with milk during daily boiling — the tin lining creates a neutral inner surface that prevents this interaction completely. The result is a Stock Pot that is both traditionally authentic in material and practically safe for daily family use. This 8-inch hammered brass stock pot is a practical and traditional kitchen gift for households that want genuine brass cookware for their daily morning milk boiling, tea preparation, and water heating rituals.

Great little temper
Size: 53mm, Color: Silver
Works great! Only problem is that it doesn’t have that feel of tamping. Wish I had more feedback. It just goes down very easily and doesn’t have that feeling of solid tamping. Now that doesn’t mean it’s not doing its job. Works fine but would like some manual feedback.

Take the guess work out of the flow!
Size: 58.3mm, Color: Black
I got this because when my wife makes espresso, it's watery. When i make it, it's fine. We needed a controlled Tampering method so we both do the same job. This is heavy, and being able to use the whole hand instead of fingers, not much effort is needed. Since we purchased this, we were able to make consistent espresso shots for sure.

Not as good as I expected
When it first came, the box fell apart as I was taking it out, and a lot of some kind of dirt or sand kept falling out all over my table and floor. I had the take the entire thing apart and thoroughly wash it. After drying age reassembling it, I tried it on my portafilter that came with my Breville Barista Express, but, somehow, it doesn't always make the tamping level. You would think with the ridge that rests on the side of the portafilter that it would force it to remain level, but, somehow, it doesn't, at least not consistently. It also has varying lengths (heights, or depths), and a single spring tension, so you may still over tamping or under-tamp. I was expecting it would have a censor that would just detect once it reached 30 lbs of force and cut off after that, similar to a torque screwdriver, but that's not what this is. I'll still give it 3 stars because, despite the problems mentioned above, it at least produces some amount of consistency, even if that isn't measurable; but, I can't give it 5 stars because of those issues mentioned above.
