Surcullus translates as “Branch, Shoot, Sprout,..” from Latin. This sculptural table lamp was inspired by the forever renewing force of nature. The abstract bronze sculpture winds its way toward the sky like a growing branch and reaches beyond the delicate Japanese paper shade like a sprout growing towards the light.
The Surculus lamp combines the old traditions of handcrafted bronze as well as new technology in LED lighting. Its form and purpose transition from traditional candlestick to contemporary portable, wireless, rechargeable LED light. As t is portable and wireless the SURCULUS is very versatile and can be used as a side table lamp as well as part of a table setting or atmosphere light indoors and outdoors.
