The Gonzales "come and take it" cannon was a Spanish-made, bronze artillery piece of six-pound caliber. The gun was the object of contention in late September and early October 1835 between a Mexican military detachment from Bexar and Anglo-Celtic colonists. The disagreement produced the battle of Gonzales, considered to be the first battle of the Texas Revolution. On January 1, 1831, Green DeWitt initiated the new year by writing Ramón Músquiz, the political chief of Bexar, asking him to make arrangements for a cannon to be furnished to the Gonzales colonists for protection against hostile Indians. On March 10, 1831, after some delay, James Tumlinson, Jr., a DeWitt colonist at Bexar, received one bronze cannon to be turned over to Green DeWitt at Gonzales. The fact that the gun was not carriage mounted until about September 28, 1835, suggests that in 1831 it was probably swivel mounted in one of the two blockhouses that had been constructed at Gonzales in 1827. Thus mounted it would have served as a visual deterrent to hostile Indians.

The cannon is lost to history until September 1835, when Col. Domingo de Ugartechea, the military commander at Bexar, sent Corporal Casimiro De León and five soldiers of the Second Flying Company of San Carlos de Parras to retrieve the cannon. The Gonzales colonists notified Ugartechea they were keeping the gun and took the soldiers prisoner. The cannon was then buried in George W. Davis's peach orchard and couriers sent to the Anglo-Celtic settlements on the Colorado River to obtain armed assistance. Ugartechea responded by sending 100 troops under Lt. Francisco de Castañeda to make a more serious request for the return of the gun. On September 29, Capt. Robert M. Coleman arrived at Gonzales with a militia company of thirty mounted Indian fighters. The gun was retrieved from its shallow grave, taken to John Sowell's blacksmith shop, and mounted on a pair of cart wheels. After organization of the Texian "Army of the People" under Gen. Stephen F. Austin, the cannon was assigned to Capt. James C. Neill's artillery company and hauled to San Antonio. After the capture of Bexar in December 1835, the cannon remained at the Alamo, where it was one of twenty-one artillery pieces commandeered by the Mexican army upon the recapture of Bexar on March 6, 1836.

The name "Come and Take It" refers to the motto adopted by the Texian rebels. On the morning of October 2, 1835, Lieutenant Castañeda requested the cannon be returned to the Mexican military-a condition on which it had been loaned to DeWitt's Colony-but the Texians pointed to the gun which stood about 200 yards to their rear, and said, "there it is-come and take it." Soon after the conflict began, at the request of the Anglo-Celtic leaders, the ladies of the settlement hastily made a flag to fly over the cannon. The flag featured a white ground with a black cannon in the center, and the motto "Come and take it!" above and below. Much has been made of an account that appears in Noah Smithwick's The Evolution of a State or Recollections of Old Texas Days (1900), in which Smithwick identifies the cannon as an iron six-pounder. This is the only account, however, of events at Gonzales in October 1835 which identifies the Gonzales gun as being made of iron. Primary documents indicate that the gun probably was a cannon belonging to George Huff, a blacksmith and gunsmith from San Felipe. Another discovery claim concerning the Gonzales cannon came into being after a major flood in July 1936, when a small iron salute cannon was discovered downstream from Hardy's Bluff on Sandies creek. Many individuals believe the small salute gun is the Gonzales cannon because it was found at a location that appears to match the information in the Smithwick book. The gun, however, matches none of the characteristics attributed to the Gonzales cannon by reliable primary sources. The Smithwick account incorrectly identifies the Gonzales cannon, but the Sandies salute gun does not even conform to Smithwick's description of the cannon he believed to be the Gonzales gun. Although what happened to the "Come and Take It" cannon is not known, still another, and probably more likely scenario, resulted from actions of the Mexican army after the fall of the Alamo, when Antonio López de Santa Anna's troops melted down an unknown number of bronze guns. The Gonzales cannon may have been one of these.

This triblend tank is soft and breathable, and the racerback style gives it a sporty feel.

Great Cleaning Power and Super Convenient
Color: White, Size: D20Plus, Color: White, Size: D20Plus
The DREAME D20 Plus Robot Vacuum and Mop works really well in my apartment. The suction is very strong and easily picks up dust and pet hair from both carpets and hard floors. I also like the self-emptying feature with the large dust bag, which saves me a lot of time. The mapping is accurate, and the battery lasts long enough to clean the whole place. Overall, it’s a great robot vacuum for the price.

I am very satisfied with the overall experience!
Color: Black, Size: D20Plus, Color: Black, Size: D20Plus
The suction power is really strong. Daily dust, hair and debris can be easily cleaned up, and the ground is obviously much cleaner. Although there are no pets at home, it is enough for daily cleaning. What I like most is its self-dust collection function. The 5L large dust bag has a large capacity and can be used for a long time without dumping garbage. It is really worry-free. It is very friendly to people who do not want to take care of the machine frequently. The drawing is very fast and accurate, and the cleaning route is orderly and will not collide randomly. The APP is easy to operate, and the appointment and remote control are very convenient. Generally speaking, it is very cost-effective, time-saving and effort-saving, and worth buying.

Good Robot Vacuum
Color: Black, Size: D20Plus, Color: Black, Size: D20Plus
This robot vacuum is really easy to use and very smart. After one cleaning cycle, it can remember the size and layout of the rooms, and it also allows you to choose different rooms for cleaning. It cleans very thoroughly, and when it finishes, it automatically returns to the dock to empty the dust and recharge. It has truly saved me a lot of time and has become a very helpful assistant at home. It also runs fairly quietly, so it does not disturb daily life too much. For people who are busy and do not have much time for housework, it is definitely worth buying.

Incredible robot.
Size: 11S MAX, Size: 11S MAX
I have had this vacuum for nearly a year now, running it on an automatic schedule every single day, and I am so grateful for this product and how it has improved my quality of life. This vacuum and its automatic schedule has meant that I rarely see any dust or dog hair on my floor and I no longer have to take the time to vacuum. The amount of dust this machine collects is unbelievable- the photo I included of the yield is from HALF of a cycle. Flooring/obstacles I use my eufy on hard floor and short carpet and it works wonderfully. It does snag on high pile rugs so I try to put my bathroom mat up when I remember. Eufy does get stuck on things so it took some time to determine what picking up I need to do before it’s “shift.” This has not been a nuisance, it’s more of a good motivation to do a quick cleanup. Durability Also, long hair is a challenge and I do have to cut it out of the brush head about once a week. I also recently replaced the brush head which was a great reset. The side spin brush also broke down over a few months and replacing that REALLY improved the power of the machine. I’ll be replacing it as soon as I notice breakage now. Noise I think it has gotten a bit louder over the year I have owned it. I used to be able to sleep through the noise, now it’s a bit too loud for me especially as it gently bangs against the walls (doesn’t scuff though). Overall, this is a gift and I will never not have one for the rest of my life

BEST ROBOVAC EVER!
Size: 11S MAX
This is BEST Robovac you'll ever own, IMHO. I purchased the first robovac made by a different company when these little things were a completely new concept. This is BEST Robovac you'll ever own, IMHO. I purchased the first robovac made by a different company when these little things were a completely new concept. It was such a surprise as to how good it was, and how it made a difference in time spent housekeeping every day. I've been a fan ever since (20+ yrs) and have tried many different brands and models. The Eufy is the best! And I have purchased 3 of this model. Depending upon your budget and specific needs, there are things I've learned, and I'm going to break those points down for your consideration. Possibly they may apply to your situation. These points are some requirements that make all the difference to me and my lifestyle. ~~> #1. Two auxiliary brushes.: This is the most important thing for me and is a no brainer, IMHO. The two brushes, one on each side of the front edge (approx 11 and 2 o'clock) sweep the debris to the underneath center of the unit where it is sucked up. Because there are two, they sweep a larger area, and because the vac covers the same areas more than once, you get better cleaning results. This is very important in kitchens and high traffic areas. Also corners are swept from both sides. #2. Undercarriage rotating beater brush: I have both carpeted and uncarpeted areas. I need more than just suction to lift dust, pet hair, dirt, and debris from my floors. My kitchen does not have carpet so an undercarriage beater brush is not a requirement, but my Family room has carpeting, and my Living room has Oriental wool and silk rugs. They need a light agitation to help lift up the dust so the vacuum can easily suction it up. A beater brush is a major requirement for my floors for this reason. #3 Scheduling option: this is WONDERFUL! Our major living areas are scheduled to vacuum after we've gone to bed, and our bedrooms and bathrooms are scheduled while we are gone during the day. Happy feet! #4. Rechargeable on its own! Need I say more? It goes back to the recharging station to recharge itself when it needs more juice. YAY! We live on three floors, and this is a huge plus for us. #5. The Customer service with this company is amazing! If you have any issues, regardless of how small, they will get back to you, and immediately help. They respond, and do not merely send you to a FAQ link. #6. It is gentle and does not smack into your furniture, scuffing it. #7. The more you use it, the cleaner your house will be. Regular dusting is done on a daily basis so there is less and less dirt and dust to deal with. It is amazing the difference! Weekend freedom! #8. You do not have to do much prep at all, just check for loose cords to not become tangled. When I bought my first robovac I didn't use it too often because I was unnecessarily moving furniture, rugs, floor lamps, trash cans, etc. Then one day, I left a door open and the robovac sneaked out of the room I'd religated it to. When I returned home, the little vac had done my whole house (single level @ 2000 sq feet) and it was GREAT. I realized that all I needed to do from then on was to let it go do its thing. Lesson learned. My Eufys are my workhorses and I recommend this little gem of a vac if you are considering it. IMHO It will be a good investment. It has been for me, and my family (including cats and dogs).
