About Saint James Rhum Blanc Agricole 110 Proof Rum

As you quest for unique rum experiences, your journey deserves a stop at Saint James Rhum Blanc Agricole 110 Proof Rum. Hailing from the Caribbean island of Martinique, this rum follows a strict A.O.C. (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée) production process, a stamp of unparalleled quality and authenticity. Known for its bold potency, this rum speaks volumes of its history; a robust legacy that dates back to 1765, making Saint James one of the oldest rum brands in the world. You're not just buying rum; you're purchasing a piece of history, a testament to centuries of perfected craft. Overall, Saint James Rhum Blanc Agricole is no ordinary rum. Its vibrant flavor profile, historical significance, and superior production standards place it a notch above, offering more than just a drink, but an experience worth treasuring.

Tasting Notes

On the nose, Saint James Rhum Blanc Agricole 110 Proof Rum sets the stage with tropical notes of ripe banana, hints of grass, and subtle aromatic spice. The mouthfeel carries its agricole lineage with pride, infusing your palate with pure sugarcane juice. Behind the initial potency lies a symphony of balanced flavors, with the vibrant sweetness of pear and notes of spices, culminating in a long, warming aftertaste. This rum ignites a sensory adventure that starts strong, journeys through layers of flavor, and concludes with a smooth, memorable finish.

Suggested Serves

  • Ti' Punch: A simple, classic cocktail that lets the Agricole 110 shine. Lime, cane syrup, and Saint James Rhum Blanc is all you need.
  • Agricole Daiquiri: The strong, grassy notes of Saint James Rhum Blanc make a striking, complex Daiquiri, a beautiful balance of sweet, sour, and powerful rum flavors.

Production Notes

Saint James Rhum Blanc Agricole is made using freshly squeezed sugarcane juice rather than the typical molasses, adhering to the strict A.O.C. Martinique Agricole Rum standards. The juice is fermented and distilled once in a Creole column, a tall, slender column still. Unlike other rums, the Blanc 110 undergoes no aging process, captured in its purest, most potent form right after distillation. The resulting spirit showcases assertive flavors and complex aromas that set it apart from its counterparts, making it an excellent choice for any rum enthusiast. Very short and very good
Format: eTextbook
I read this book or one similar to it my senior year in high school 1970. It absolutely caught my attention as a way to explain why the continents had separated from Gondwanaland. I really liked revisiting the theory in light of the advances made since then

I love VSI on Kindle
Format: eTextbook
The thing is they take a long time to read because of the look up feature. It's like reading a book in the Library of Congress.

There are few who are capable of telling the story ...
Format: Paperback
There are few who are capable of telling the story of plate techtonics including critical details. Peter Molnar is one of those chosen few who can deliver such a story succinctly and precisely.

Very nice, but very short, book on the subject.
Format: Paperback
This is a very nice, but very short, book on the subject. I learned quite a bit and enough to delve into structural geology and related subjects.

Excellent 120 pages book on a complex subject.
Format: Paperback
I thought this was an excellent 120 pages book on a complex subject. It discusses a variety of subjects besides the title of plate tectonics and which are related to it: continental drift, oceanic seafloor spreading, fracture zones, subduction of tectonic plate edges, faulting, the creation of mountains and plateaus, earthquakes, volcanism, oceanic magnetic anomalies, and the locations of concentrated metallic ores. The text is accompanied by almost 40 sketches and diagrams elaborating on the discussions provided in the text. The book also introduces the grand concepts of Earth geology such as the mantle, lithosphere, and asthenosphere. It also provides a short history of the development of the concept of plate tectonics. Finally, the book provides specific detailed descriptions of the formation of major mountain ranges and plateaus such as the Himalayas, the Tibetan Plateau, Tien Shan, the Tarim Basin, the movement of Eastern Asia, the Andes, and the western US mountain ranges. It also gives a short description of the movement of India from the eastern edge of the African Plate to the Eurasian Plate over the past 90+ million years.
