Just arrived at Chordplay is this 1999 Fender Standard Telecaster in classic Brown Sunburst, built in Fender’s renowned Ensenada, Mexico factory. Now over 25 years old, this is one of those guitars that reminds you why the Telecaster remains one of the most recorded and gigged guitars in history.

Whether you’re after country twang, indie chime, blues bite, classic rock crunch or even jazz warmth from the neck pickup, the Telecaster simply does it all. There’s a reason professional musicians have relied on this design since the early 1950s.

This example has clearly been well cared for throughout its life. The finish still presents beautifully with a rich three-tone Brown Sunburst, the maple neck has aged nicely, and the guitar plays exactly as a good Tele should. The original Fender Standard single-coil pickups deliver all the snap, clarity and punch you’d expect, while the six-saddle string-through-body bridge offers excellent intonation and tuning stability.

Condition is excellent for a 1999 instrument. There are a handful of small cosmetic marks and chips as pictured, including a small chip to the top edge and some light general playwear commensurate with age, but nothing that detracts from the overall appearance or performance of the guitar.
