Own a classic piece of 24th-century technology with this authentic 1994 Playmates Star Trek: The Next Generation Type I "Cricket" Phaser. This 1:1 scale toy replica was a staple of the mid-90s Playmates line, meticulously modeled after the compact stealth phasers used by Captain Picard, Commander Riker, and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise-D.

This item is being sold as-is for parts, repair, or display, as the electronic light and sound functions are currently non-operational.

Design & Detail

The "Cricket" Phaser was renowned for its sleek, ergonomic "cobra-head" design, representing the advanced aesthetic of the TNG era. This replica features the original Starfleet grey casing with copper-toned accents and the signature thumb-trigger firing button. The authentic molding includes the power-level indicator strip and the beam intensity adjustment dial found on the screen-used props.

Condition & Technical Notes

  • Electronics: Currently non-functional. The phaser does not produce sound or light effects when the trigger is depressed. This may be due to corroded battery contacts or internal wiring age.

  • Battery Compartment: The battery door is present and fits securely.

  • Cosmetic Condition: The plastic casing is in very good vintage condition with minimal surface scuffs or play wear. The original copper and silver paint accents remain largely intact and vibrant.

  • Structural Integrity: The trigger mechanism still has a satisfying tactile "click" when pressed, and there are no cracks or structural breaks in the housing.

Collector’s Potential

This is an ideal acquisition for a variety of Star Trek enthusiasts:

  • Cosplayers: A perfect, lightweight prop for a TNG-era uniform where functional electronics are not required.

  • Repair Hobbyists: A great candidate for a restoration project or for harvesting authentic 1990s replacement parts.

  • Display Collectors: An excellent shelf piece for a Star Trek armory or "Evolution of the Phaser" collection.

Modern, Sturdy, and Perfect for Outdoor Projects
Size: 38"Height × 14" Wide
These metal pipes made fantastic table legs for our outdoor wood table. They have a sleek, modern look that feels high-end. We sprayed them with Rust-Oleum for added protection, and they’ve held up great. Solid, stylish, and functional—highly recommend for any DIY furniture project!

Strong legs, somewhat industrial but trendy also
Size: side table leg
Good legs, some what utilitarian or industrial, they are strong as they are made out of pipe, and assembly is fairly easy once you get the idea of how it goes together. They are roughly 1.5 feet across maybe a bit less adjustable height on each leg, if you have wood floors you may want to put a pad under each leg as they are full metal pipes. Pretty interesting idea and does not cost much.

Pretty good, take your time and install it well
Size: side table leg
Materials are pretty solid, but once assembled it’s not as sturdy as you would think it should be since the material itself was solid, i say give them a chance, everything out there that’s similar is way over priced
