Description:
Talent Management Systems addresses the transformation
Web-based technologies have brought to workforce acquisition and
management. It examines proven and leading-edge best practices, and
what tactics and strategies organizations should employ to remain
competitive in this arena. The book is part practical, offering
advice on how to institute best practices in e-recruitment and
talent management, and strategic, discussing trends and state of
the art technology and practices that should be adopted or avoided.

"We're at the brink of the next global battle in the war for
talent, and companies with a firm grasp on today's technologies,
and the best view over the horizon, are positioned to win. No one
understands the intersection of talent and technology better than
Allan Schweyer and, as this book demonstrates, no one tells us the
story as clearly as he. This is an essential read and an important
work in the now-critical discipline of human capital
management."
?Michael Foster, CEO, AIRS, and Author of Recruiting on
the Web

"Allan Schweyer has been on the leading edge of recruitment
technology since the dawn of the Internet. In many ways the
Internet has created more confusion than solutions for the world of
recruiting and talent management. It has certainly made things more
complex. HR professionals and even company presidents have become
desperate for clarity on the future of talent management-Allan
Schweyer's book provides that clarity and establishes him as the
authority on web-based hiring and talent management. No major
implementation decision should be made without this invaluable
guide."

Excellent Details
Format: Kindle
If you're like me, you've probably either never heard of these cases or heard about them in only the broadest of strokes. For remedying that, this book is excellent. Thomas provides a detailed account of how these complaints came to be, how they wended their way through the cases, and why they are important in terms of outcome and legal precedent. This is a book that I'm glad to have read and one that I would highly recommend to others.

engrossing, revealing, shocking, fascinating -- 10 gritty women who won big cases at great personal loss
Format: Kindle
Thankfully, women no longer have to pay more for retirement plans, and get lower payouts, than men. Amazing how many different, inventive the ways were in the 1960's to keep women out of jobs. Bless Title VII and the attorneys and clients who fought these battles; we stand on their shoulders. The saddest part is the update, at the end of the book showing how protections against gender discrimination in the workplace have weakened in recent years. In particular, it has become difficult, or nearly impossible, to prove that a hostile work environment exists so long as employers pay lip service to certain ideas and practices and hide what's really going on--which we working women KNOW still goes on, unfortunately.

Entertaining, personal history of landmark cases
Format: Hardcover
Amazing look behind the scenes at the people (plaintiffs and lawyers) who made equality for women at work a reality. Compelling, heartwarming, and educational - should be required reading for anyone who holds a job in 21st century America - both to learn how far we've come and to see the ways in which we need to continue the fight for equality at work.

Great Process for Presentation Noobs
Format: Paperback
I had already agreed to give a workshop to my co-workers about how to give more effective presentations when I purchased this book for prep. I immediately adapted the recommended process. After years of creating my own slide decks I have my quirky development process. Following the guidelines in this book will allow anyone at any skill level to methodically create a dynamic slide deck and give a speech that will move the audience to action. I wish I'd had it 35 years ago, when I first started making slide decks, before I learned the hard way that bullets kill.
