The Felt Store Watering Mat is a self-regulating irrigation mat for planters and pots. It is made of non-woven polyester fibers that lock in moisture and slowly release it when the soil starts to dry. This means less water waste and less care on your end. The Watering Mat can easily be cut down to fit any size or shape planter/pot.

Instructions for Plants Already in Planters/Pots:
1. Lay the Watering Mat flat in a plastic tray.
2. Soak the Watering Mat in water.
3. Place the planters/pots in the tray on top of the Watering Mat.

Instructions for Potting New Plants:
1. Cover the bottom of your planter/pot with 1" (25.4 mm) of soil.
2. Cut the watering mat 1/2" (12.7 mm) to 2" (50.8 mm) smaller than the size of the planter/pot and place it inside the planter/pot.
3. Pour in just enough water to moisten the Watering Mat and then continue to plant as you normally would. The Watering Mat should be 1" (25.4 mm) to 2" (50.8 mm) below the roots of the plant.
4. For the first two weeks, monitor your plants closely to see how often you will need to water, as the size and type of plant affects the length of time between watering. For planters/pots larger than 20" (508 mm), use a second layer of matting and allow more space in between the Watering Mat and the roots of the plant.
