First edition.
King Ink is Nick Cave’s first published book, a collection of lyrics, prose fragments, and dream narratives, documenting the formative years of his career from The Birthday Party through the early period of The Bad Seeds. By turns violent, poetic, and darkly comic, King Ink establishes the fascination with religion and eroticism that would come to define Cave’s later literary and musical work.
