Autoclave-ExitusPlus™
When added to culture media waste or buffer solutions, Autoclave-ExitusPlus™ effectively destroys nucleic acids during the subsequent autoclaving process. Through the catalytic and cooperative effects of the solution components, rapid, non-enzymatic, and non-sequence-specific degradation of DNA and RNA molecules occurs. All ingredients of the Autoclave-ExitusPlus™ solution are biodegradable, safe for humans and non-toxic. No aggressive mineral acids or alkalis are used, ensuring that equipment and materials are not damaged or destroyed, even with extended exposure times.
As an aqueous solution, it contains no organic solvents or volatile components and produces no toxic fumes. At temperatures above approximately 50°C, both the reaction speed and effectiveness increase. Studies have shown that at higher temperatures, especially during autoclaving, the reaction speed significantly rises. DNA degradation and additional sterilization effects are achieved even if the autoclave temperature is not fully reached, such as in cases of a defective or incorrectly set autoclave, or when dealing with a very large liquid volume that does not exceed the 120°C mark. In these instances, the additive offers an extra safety guarantee.
Autoclave-ExitusPlus™ is supplied in 6 portions of powder, each sufficient to treat 1 liter of waste each (total volume 6 liters).
