Explore the captivating world of Martin d'Orgeval's 'Découpages,' a remarkable fifth monograph that redefines contemporary photography. This stunning collection presents a unique interplay of found objects, drawing the viewer into a mysterious journey through shapes, shades, and textures. Each page showcases meticulously captured images of stacked marble plates, merging human creativity with the beauty of nature. D'Orgeval's work compels you to rethink your perceptions, as every photograph transforms into a self-processed masterpiece akin to the 'cut-out' drawings known as 'découpages.' Great read
Format: Kindle
I really like this one. Even though the Poppy character is a bit stubborn and won’t accept she is not really a detective, yet. The rest of the characters and plot delightful. I’m already looking forward to the next one.

Enjoyable
Format: Kindle
It is a good read. I enjoy the leafing characters. The plot was well done.
But it could use a bit of better editing. There were several mistakes.

as an addition to the Scottish Ladies Detective agency, a new lady sleuth
Format: Kindle
What a wonderful mystery, a grand heroine who is polishing her detective skills.
All the pomp of the gentile classes at their play. Murders, theft, and dogs in the highlands, what could be better?

Promising start to new mystery series.
Format: Kindle
Lady Persephone "Poppy" Proudfoot attends a house party at an estate, meets some American actors, and tries to solve the murder of a stranger to the village whose body is discovered by the lake. The first in a series, this book is a quick read with a plot that moves along, although some of the large cast of characters seem superfluous (e.g., the American visitors). Poppy is a widow, a law-school graduate (in the 1920s!), and ran a hospital for wounded soldiers during WW1, so an interesting character to read about. A promising beginning to the series and I look forward to the next book. Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the eARC.
