There are vintage and modern elements onboard this D-X2E. The baseline design, a D-14 Fret dreadnought shape, features a shorter twenty-five-inch scale length, like Billy's pre-war model. This body comes together with a spruce top and Brazilian rosewood high-pressure laminate back and sides. A combination of tonewoods like this produce a warm and bellowing voice that's ideal for the type of speedy bluegrass Billy is accustomed to. Whether playing in vintage or modern stylings, this acoustic has everything you could need. A scalloped bracing pattern balances out the voice of this acoustic for maximizing its rich tonality.
A Modified Low Oval-shaped neck combines with an ebony fingerboard bearing twenty frets while faux abalone diamond and square long inlays align for a bright visual motif. Onboard, Martin's E1 electronics system features a built-in tuner to aid in on-the-fly adjustments and translating the sweet acoustic tones of this dreadnought to the stage. For traveling from place to place, the Martin D-X2E comes with an included Martin soft shell case. Within, one can find a custom paper label stamped with Billy's pre-printed signature and graphic.
