YOUR GIFT NOW DOUBLED: Over 300 Dogs and Cats Rescued From Horrific Conditions

On March 20, the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) raided a property near Los Angeles.

Dozens of animal control officers wore hazmat suits and respirators to evacuate 250 dogs and 66 cats from deplorable conditions.

Pets are being triaged by veterinary and medical staff. Animals requiring emergency medical care were immediately transported to veterinary hospitals. The rest were transported to DACC facilities where they are being evaluated and given proper care.

This is an active investigation, so photos and details are limited. What we do know is that over 300 animals need medical care.

Greater Good Charities is working closely with DACC to feed and care for the hundreds of rescued animals. Your donations will help provide food, litter, vaccinations, and medical care. These pets need your support now!

A gift of $105 covers the feeding and care of a rescued animal for a day. Plus, your donation will be matched, up to $12,000, thanks to Pretty Litter.

News of horrific cruelty seems to reach us daily: animals victimized in puppy mills, by organized animal fighting rings, hoarding, and cruel laboratory testing. These animals live in inhumane conditions, are denied love and care, and, in some instances, are abused for the entertainment and satisfaction of humans.

Rescuing animals from large-scale abuse situations like these can be costly and time-consuming. Animal shelters, law enforcement, and rescue organizations work together to humanely remove the animals and document conditions. The health and safety of the animals and people involved is also top priority, and oftentimes, sick and injured animals must be rushed to care immediately. In order to fund important rescues like these, we need your help.

With your donations to the Paws Lifeline Fund, Greater Good Charities partners with on-the-ground organizations across the U.S. to fund rescue missions and the treatment of victimized animals.

Your donation will directly impact the lives of these furry survivors and can fund projects like the one described.

  • Essential medical care
  • Rehabilitation
  • Transportation
  • Critical shelter supplies
  • Food and Nourishment

Whether it's veterinary treatments, behavior training, or simply providing a warm bed and nourishing meals, your support will help rebuild the shattered lives of these pets. These poor, abused, and neglected animals deserve better lives. Your gift can support them on their journey to heal.

Together, we can put an end to animal cruelty. Just $10 given to the Paws Lifeline Fund can go towards rescuing and saving abused animals in need and fund more rescues like these:

Puppy Mill Rescue: Traumatized Dalmatians Rescued After Spending Years at Puppy Mill

Countless dogs continue to suffer at puppy mills, like Lisa and Dale. The two Dalmatians were mistreated their whole lives and lost faith in mankind.

When they were no longer needed for breeding, they were brought to an auction where they were thankfully rescued by undercover rescuers.

Lisa was reactive and defensive because humans always meant pain and suffering. Dale was also leery around humans but realized that these ones were here to help.

Your donations helped these poor dogs learn to trust again through tasty treats, soft beds, and nutritious food.

They are finally experiencing love and it has transformed their lives.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE:  Pennsylvania SPCA’s Animal Law Enforcement team rescued 92 cats and kittens from a breeder in Lancaster County, PA.

After a tip from concerned cat lovers who had recently purchased a Ragdoll kitten from the breeder, a search warrant was issued to investigate the premises. What law enforcement found was appalling. Nearly 100 cats were living in deplorable conditions. Many had ringwork and upper respiratory infections. All of the cats were filthy and neglected. The breeder hadn't brought the cats to a vet.

Greater Good Charities’ Emergency Animal Medical fund and The Animal Rescue Site stepped up to help cover the cost of their medical treatment, nursing these poor cats back to health.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE: The Humane Society of Wichita County and the Texas Animal Investigation & Response (AIR) team rescued over 400 animals from horrible cruelty at a local pet store.

There were 12 species in all being kept in the pet store with barely any food or water. Dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, and more were being forced to live in crowded, deplorable conditions that threatened their health and well-being. They were scared, sick, and suffering.

AIR's volunteers rushed to the scene to remove the animals from the store. It took 408 hours and 15 volunteers to safely extract them. With your support, Greater Good Charities was able to provide grants to both the Humane Society of Wichita County and AIR, along with in-kind donations of animal care and enrichment items. Now, these innocent animals are on their way to happy, healthy lives free of cruelty and neglect.

Sadly, cases like these happen every day, and animals are in crisis until help arrives for them. With your donation today, you can help Greater Good Charities support organizations that are rescuing animals nationwide. Will you be there in their time of need?

Meh
Size: 10, Color: Black
I had a real leather version of these shoes for many years. They are still totally wearable, however the soles have worn smooth from using them so much. so naturally I buy a new pair. These are the same design. the stitching is close, the pattern in the leather is the same. But they are so much cheaper. There is no real leather. It's all synthetic. The sole is not the same quality of rubber. The stitching is not as good. They look fine, brand new, yet I am sure they will not last. these are cheap. They also cost less, so I guess they are an average value, but I am very annoyed.

The "Lazy Professional" Look: Is Hands-Free Luxury Actually Real?
Size: 9.5, Color: Black Napa Leather
Living down here in Florida, my footwear needs are pretty specific. It’s hot, it’s humid, and I spent half my life rushing from the car into work or a meeting. I’ve reached that age where I value efficiency just as much as style—maybe more. I’ve been eyeing the Marc Joseph New York Hands-Free Slip-on Penny Loafers for a while, and after putting them through the wringer, here is the honest truth from someone who just wants to look sharp without the hassle. The "Just Step-In" Reality Look, the big selling point here is the "Hands-Free" tech. We’ve all seen the commercials for those athletic slip-ins, but finding that in a legitimate leather penny loafer is a different game. Does it work? Yes, surprisingly well. The heel counter is firm enough that it doesn’t collapse when you slide your foot in, but it doesn’t feel like a piece of plastic digging into your Achilles once you’re in. For those of us who are tired of bending over or hunting for a shoehorn every morning, this is a genuine quality-of-life upgrade. The Florida Factor: Comfort and Style The leather is actual calfskin (on most models), which is a must for the Florida heat. Synthetic shoes turn into a sauna within ten minutes, but these breathe reasonably well. The aesthetic is classic—it’s a "professor" shoe through and through. You can wear them with chinos and a blazer for work or throw them on with some nice jeans for a weekend lunch. Inside, they’ve got a gel heel insert and a padded footbed. It’s not quite "walking on a cloud"—let’s not over-hype it—but it’s a massive step up from the hard, flat soles of traditional dress loafers. I’ve spent four hours on my feet lecturing, and my arches didn’t hate me by the end of the day. The Sizing Gamble Here’s where you need to be careful. The consensus from other guys (and my own experience) is that the sizing is a bit of a coin toss. They tend to run a little large and sometimes wide. If you have narrow feet, you might find the sides "gaping" or flaring out when you walk, which kills the sleek look. I’d recommend ordering a half-size down if you’re usually between sizes. The Breakdown The Pros: True Hands-Free: You can actually put these on while holding a coffee and a briefcase. No hands needed. Legit Materials: The calf leather feels premium and smells like the real deal. Versatility: Perfectly bridges the gap between a "car shoe" and a formal loafer. Comfort: The gel insert makes a noticeable difference for long-duration wear. The Cons: Sizing Inconsistency: They can run wide, leading to some "heel slip" if you don't get the perfect fit. Break-in Period: The heel is stiff by design (to allow for the slip-on feature), so expect a day or two of minor stiffness. Price Point: They aren't cheap, though often on sale. Value for Money Are they worth it? If you’re comparing them to high-end Italian brands that cost $500, these are an absolute steal. They look 90% as good for a fraction of the price. However, if you're used to $60 mall shoes, the jump to $150+ might feel steep until you realize you’re paying for the convenience of never having to touch your shoes to put them on. For a daily driver in a professional setting, the value is definitely there.
