Sexual Sanity for Women guides participants through the process of understanding why they struggle with destructive relational and sexual patterns and how the gospel brings change and a new way of living.

Twenty lessons guide participants to understand God's good design for sexuality, the underlying reasons why they struggle with sexual brokenness, and how the grace and truth of Jesus Christ can be applied to their struggles. Change begins as deeper heart issues are uncovered and as women learn that they are well-loved daughters of God who will find healing and wholeness as they live out God's Word in their relationships.

This workbook is ideal for a one-on-one mentoring, college-age student groups, and women's groups.

The accompanying Leader's Guide is available in eBook format from New Growth Press.

ENDORSEMENTS

"Here's real hope for the woman who has experienced so much relational pain and sexual brokenness. The editor, Ellen Dykas, has experienced freedom through Christ herself and is a woman of wisdom and compassion. Because Sexual Sanity for Women gently but firmly gets to the root of the pain, the woman who opens her heart to this truth will truly be set free."
– Dee Brestin, Author of The Friendships of Women and Idol Lies: Facing the Truth about Our Deepest Desires

"God's design for sexuality is good and for our good. Harvest USA has provided a strong resource that brings a clear biblical foundation and the healing, redemptive, transforming gospel into a broken world and broken lives. This twenty-lesson guide offers opportunities for women to allow the Word of God to break into needy hearts. Whether for personal study or group mentoring, the body of Christ needs this equipping to hold before those who struggle to live out a godly sexuality."
– Jane Patete, Women's Ministries Coordinator, Presbyterian Church in America

"Helping women understand God's original design for sexuality is a critical need in our culture. So many of the conversations and resources focus only on the sin; Sexual Sanity for Women provides a way to experience healing and transformation through the study of God's Word. It is not just another book; it is a discipleship tool to help bring true freedom that comes from living life the way God meant it to be. It is a resource I'm excited to share with others in our ministry."
– Donna Noonan, Director of Women's Staff Development, Fellowship of Christian Athletes

"Sexual Sanity for Women: Healing from Sexual and Relational Brokenness is way overdue. A generation of iKids has known sexuality from the perspective of technology and the Internet. We need solid resources to help us teach those entering our church settings with heart-wrenching stories how to push the 'reset button' on their sexuality. Ellen Dykas has edited a creatively useful handbook for the church and counselors working with any woman who needs to retrain her heart to think about sexuality as a gift from God. This is a solid resource to use with teens, college women, or new believers. Harvest USA has hit the nail on the head yet again."
– Penny Nelson Freeman, LPC, The Counseling Center at Chelten

"In an age where gender and sexuality are central battlefronts of the Enemy, the church must be ready to respond. Sexual Sanity for Women has broken the 'louder silence' for women. Many resources are merely academic or self-help in nature. Yet, this curriculum is a thorough, rare, and vital tool that will equip ministry leaders, counselors, and the church to bring hope and help to the sexually broken. Its comprehensive perspective effectively facilitates personal and corporate reflection while remaining Christ-centered, ultimately unpacking how the gospel speaks to gender and sexuality."
– Heather Evans, LCSW, Counselor in private practice, Coopersburg, PA and co-founder of The Valley Against Sex Trafficking (VAST) Coalition

"Ellen Dykas and the staff of Harvest USA have written a compassionate, insightful, and practical book that is faithful to God's Word in addressing the relational and sexual brokenness unique to women. This book speaks with truth and love to the issues that women in our churches are facing. The gospel of Jesus Christ applied in this way will bring hope and freedom to many."
– Ron Lutz, Pastor, New Life Presbyterian Church, Dresher, PA

"In our post-feminist, hypersexualized culture, women are confused about what the Bible teaches about sexuality. Sexual Sanity for Women is an eminently practical small group resource that will minister to women who are addicted to pornography, struggle with same-sex attraction, feel guilty from a lifestyle of promiscuity, have been sexually abused, or just need to understand what Christianity has to say about sexuality. It deals with the issues frankly while pointing women to gospel truths in a compassionate way. A must-have resource for every women's ministry."
– Melanie M. Cogdill, Managing Editor, Christian Research Journal

Obsessed. Soothing, effective, fragrance-free, incredibly healing
Style: Tolerance Daily Foaming Facial Cleanser
I’ve been loving this so much I bought a second bottle after a few days of using it. It has all the skin soothing benefits of the tolerance lotion cleanser, but it’s also a really great cleanser. It’s almost not noticeable how good it is at cleansing because your skin doesn’t feel stripped after, but it takes things off really quickly. I was worried because it doesn’t foam a lot and it feels so nurturing — much like the tolerance lotion cleanser (which I use as a second cleanse when my skin needs a few days to recover from something like a derm office treatment) — but when I wash again with my favorite HG cleanser nothing extra comes off, and I tested it twice on waterproof eyeliner that I’d swiped on my forearm for an hour or so, the eyeliner dissolved and wiped off with two or three gentle swipes. It has a very emollient texture, so when you rub it against your skin it slips so easily you don’t realize it’s dissolving and taking things away because there is no friction. So it’s great at taking off makeup, it’s AMAZING at cleaning makeup brushes, and IT DOES NOT BURN MY EYES AT ALL. Also, it is FRAGRANCE-FREE… before I bought it I read a review complaining about smelling a citrus fragrance, that person either has some sort of brain tumor or something spilled on their bottle when it was in a warehouse because this is definitely a fragrance-free product. Prior to trying this, I had tried another cleanser that gave me weird acne hives all over my chest (never happened to me before) and I was struggling to heal the acne and the irritation. I noticed an immediate difference when I started using the tolerance cleanser on it; the fresh redness went away, the acne started healing, and the post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation has been healing fast. So I’ve been using this on my body as well and it’s soothing and moisturizing in all the places where other things have been drying. I have mild rosacea and I hadn’t realized how irritated my skin was from the last thing I’d tried until after 5 days or so of using this my skin tone looked much more even and the stubborn PIH I have from a two-zit hormonal breakout a month ago finally looked dramatically lighter (as recently as the week before, I’d needed to cover them with high-coverage concealer). Because this doesn’t foam much, some people might not realize how well it’s cleaning… I encourage you to judge it based on how your skin looks and feels. Since it is very emollient though, I do think it’s important to use it with a face wash scrubber or washcloth just to ensure you’re getting some mild mechanical exfoliation and clearing away skin cells that could be trapping stuff in your pores. For this reason, I do wash my face with this twice so the first wash can get off makeup/debris/oil and then the second wash can really penetrate and clean my skin.

No Scent and Gentle
Style: Tolerance Daily Foaming Facial Cleanser
I broke out in a case of Perioral Dermatitis recently and bought this product to help before I could see my doctor. Avene Tolerance facial cleanser has no scent and is very gentle on my skin. It didn’t burn when washing with this product, and even helped to slough off the dead skin around my lips. My face feels clean, not dry. I am still going to see my doc to get an RX for the inflammation, but I do believe this product helped to alleviate the dryness and tightness of my skin and lips. I’ve used other Avene products and I’m very happy with them. Even though these products are more expensive, to me they are well worth the money because they are much more gentle on the skin than any other products I’ve used. I will buy this product again just because of the fact that it’s so gentle. PS: at the time of purchase for this product, I also bought Avene’s Tolerance Control Skin Recovery Cream (you don’t need to use a lot of this one on your entire face), and Avene’s Cicalfate for lips. Between these 3 products, my lips and skin feel a lot better (however, I will still see my doctor because I have Crohn’s Disease and Perioral Dermatitis is considered an extra-intestinal side effect of Crohn’s).

Gentle everyday cleanser!
Style: Tolerance Daily Foaming Facial Cleanser
My go to nightly cleanser! Gentle yet effective. Removes makeup without leaving any residue behind. Also does not dry out my skin or cause breakouts! I would say it’s more of a cream cleanser though. It does not really foam up. It’s a decent size bottle for the price. The pump dispenser is an added plus!

So gentle and moisturizing. Great for super sensitive skin.
Style: Tolerance Daily Foaming Facial Cleanser
This is so gentle and moisturizing. Does not irritate my skin in any way. My skin is super sensitive and I have atopic dermatitis, it has been the best cleanser I’ve used to date. I was using another one from this brand and it was fine but this is the one I will continually stick with from now on. Just hope they don’t change the formula.
