Alan Sparhawk’s With Trampled By Turtles is a luminous, deeply personal collaboration steeped in memory, community, and resilience—now available on Sunflare-colored vinyl. Sparhawk, best known for his work in Low, trades electronic experimentation for stripped-down folk intimacy, backed by longtime friends and fellow Duluth legends, Trampled By Turtles.
Tracks like “Not Broken”—a tender duet with his daughter Hollis—glow with familial warmth, while “Too High” and “Princess Road Surgery” carry the haunting beauty of Mimi Parker’s legacy. The entire album feels like a campfire gathering of kindred spirits, brimming with empathy, rawness, and quiet strength.
This record isn't just a musical release; it's a heartfelt tribute and a communal healing process. Pressed in a stunning Sunflare hue, it’s a beacon for those who find solace in sound and connection in grief.
