One of the greatest joys of the Fender Custom Shop is the idea of bringing to reality an instrument perhaps not perceived or even envisioned in designing in the '50s, but with the sound and aesthetic as if it came back in a DeLorean and not off a Fender bench in the 21st century. That in mind, we give you this: a '59 Esquire Custom.

This guitar features a Lush Closet Classic relic package, whereby the instrument shows signs of having been "closet kept" for a number of years, but having been played and exposed to elements without it being thrashed. The body has been intentionally checked and treated, and the hardware is mildly aged. The "custom" treatment in a Tele/Esquire Custom is double body binding.

Pick up this '59 Esquire Custom and you'll immediately notice it's large C-shape neck and light weight - coming in under 7.5 lbs. The neck also features a full gloss finish. Don't be scared! Keep it polished and it will be plenty smooth an won't restrict playability.

Plugging in: The '59 Esquire Custom features Fender's Full Throttle Esquire wiring, which breaks down as follows: Position 1: Volume and tone bypassed, pickup straight to output Position 2: Volume and tone enabled Position 3: Volume bypassed, tone enabled

This guitar also comes with a Telecaster conversion kit, which consists of a Fender Tele neck pickup, 1-ply white pickguard cut for Tele, and a prewired electronics kit.

This '59 Esquire Custom features even more twang and bite from a light ash body than a Tele would by bypassing the tone pot. In sporting a modern complement of Sanko 6105 frets on a 9.5" radius, it plays for days in anyone's hands.
