Keep the charged air temperatures down in your turbocharged Civic with the 2016+ Honda Civic Performance Intercooler Kit from Mishimoto! In the age of the turbocharger, Honda has finally joined the ranks of forced induction by equipping their tenth generation of the Civic with the L15B7. Where the Earth Dreams technology might be advanced, It'still suffers from an age-old enemy -- heat. The stock intercooler utilizes a tube-and-fin construction coupled with plastic end tanks, giving high temperatures a perfect breeding ground. Our intercooler is designed with the Honda enthusiast in mind and eliminates high charged air temperatures that set up shop in the stock intercooler. The all-aluminum, bar-and-plate construction is specifically designed to shrug off heat generated from compressing air into the intake manifold. Our intercooler also has increased the volume by 102-percent and fin surface area by 97-percent, which helps drop outlet air temperatures by 20 F over the stock intercooler, and up to 42 F once a performance tune is added. The benefits of our upgraded design don't stop with the intercooler. Our direct-fit intercooler kit also gives the stock intercooler piping an overhaul. We ditched the plastic and rubber combination that made up the original equipment and replaced them with mandrel-bent aluminum and 5-layer, fiber-embedded silicone couplers. Our piping also increases the size of both the hot and cold-sides of the piping system from 42mm to 55mm, equating in a 30-percent increase in size. We also took the liberty of reducing the angles of the bends in the piping, giving the charged air a more direct flow through the intercooling system and improving the flow. Our performance intercooler kit adds up to 4 hp and 8 ft-lbs of torque on the stock tuning, with the potential to boost that power gain to 11 hp and 9 ft-lbs of torque with a tune.This Part Fits:

Not as good as I expected
When it first came, the box fell apart as I was taking it out, and a lot of some kind of dirt or sand kept falling out all over my table and floor. I had the take the entire thing apart and thoroughly wash it.
After drying age reassembling it, I tried it on my portafilter that came with my Breville Barista Express, but, somehow, it doesn't always make the tamping level. You would think with the ridge that rests on the side of the portafilter that it would force it to remain level, but, somehow, it doesn't, at least not consistently. It also has varying lengths (heights, or depths), and a single spring tension, so you may still over tamping or under-tamp. I was expecting it would have a censor that would just detect once it reached 30 lbs of force and cut off after that, similar to a torque screwdriver, but that's not what this is.
I'll still give it 3 stars because, despite the problems mentioned above, it at least produces some amount of consistency, even if that isn't measurable; but, I can't give it 5 stars because of those issues mentioned above.

As an el Supremo Coffee Geek, I've wasted money on lots of different tampers. Save your money and buy this one or it's equivalent. This thing is heavy duty, solid, well-made, self-leveling, tamps at 30 pounds and is fool-proof even for fools. Also, it's a palm tamper meaning more fun and more satisfying to use as you prep the puck for your morning buzz. Buy it. You will thank me.

Super easy to use and takes the guess-work out of getting even pressure on the grounds

I have been using a hand tamper for many years and have a good idea of the pressure I am applying to the grounds in the portafilter. I honestly considered spring tampers to be a bit silly. But this tamper really does take the guess-work out of pressing the coffee grounds. The shroud helps guide the press so that pressure is applied even and flat across the surface. With the manual tamper, there will be some play when pressing, or some unevenness in pressure. This is especially true when cranking out many espressos during a breakfast party with friends. Having the spring tamper makes quick work of turning out a lot of coffees with consistency.
There are no instructions for taking this tamper apart to clean inside, and you may not really need to do that very often. After each use, just pull back the shroud (the black piece that moves up and down) and wipe off the tamper (the shiny steel part). This will help prevent grounds from working their way inside. If you do want to take it apart, it’s easy. Pull back the shroud and unscrew the tamper. It will come apart into three pieces. Wipe the pieces off and reassemble. Super quick and easy.
This tamper is very heavy. My scale shows 656 g (about a pound and a half). It fits the portafilter exactly, with no slop. Just place on top of grounds and press!. Don’t even worry about pressure, just push down all the way. Overall I had fun using this tamper versus my manual one. And since I make myself a cappuccino very early in the morning, I don’t have to be very awake to get a good pack on the grounds and get my coffee fast!
