Stepping into the spotlight in the mid-70s, he released Black Rhapsody, his second album on Florida’s iconic TK Records, showcasing his unparalleled guitar talent.

This 1974 instrumental gem highlights Little Beaver’s original deep funk grooves alongside soulful reinterpretations of Al Green, The Temptations, The Jackson 5, and George Gershwin. Featuring the standout track “A Tribute to Wes,” which was later sampled by J Dilla for Slum Village’s Conant Gardens, Black Rhapsody bridges the gap between vintage funk and modern hip-hop, influencing artists like Jay-Z and People Under The Stairs.

However there were just one too many convoluted plot points, sentences just did not flow nicely at times, and I was left with a lot of confusion on my end. I think it has the bones of being a great story but seems like it was rushed and I had to push myself to finish the last of the book and was left with an unsatisfying ending. It’s definitely different from other omegaverse novels I’ve read but not for good reasons. I really think it could be great but needs some serious tweaking and editing before I’d read it again.
