Description:
Cortec® ElectriCorr® VpCI®-238 is a cleaner/protector with Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) for electrical and electronic equipment and components. It forms a film effective against galvanic corrosion that does not alter the electrical resistance or magnetic properties of metal substrates. It can be safely applied to protect circuits or relays without causing any changes in conductivity. Compatible with most plastics, elastomers and other non-metallics. CFC and 1,1,1-Trichlorethane free.
Packaging:
Available in 9.45 oz aerosol cans. Sold in a box containing 6 cans. Store indoors and out of direct sunlight at 40-100ºF.
How to Use:
Spray the part to be cleaned with ElectriCorr® VpCI®-238. Remove excess by drip or wipe. Dry time is 1-2 hours at 70ºF and 50% RH. Forced air not recommended. The amount necessary to maintain a sufficient concentration of vapors will depend on efficiency of sealing enclosures, air circulation, volume, atmospheric conditions and density of the walls. Application is effective for 6+ months with proper controls.
Typical Applications:
It can be used for rust prevention on different metals in humid environment. Use for printed circuit boards, electrical contacts and components, electric motors, generators and junction boxes. Also used to spray after final assembly or in the field.
