For more than two decades, the artist-activist LaToya Ruby Frazier has used photography, text, moving images, and performance to revive and preserve forgotten narratives of labor, gender, and race in the postindustrial era. Frazier has cultivated a practice that builds on the legacy of the social documentary tradition of the 1930s, the photo-conceptual forays of the 1960s and 1970s, and the work of socially conscious writers like Upton Sinclair, James Baldwin, and bell hooks. Monuments of Solidarity celebrates the creativity and collaboration that persist in the face of industrialization and deindustrialization, racial and environmental injustice, gender disparities, unequal access to health care and clean water, and the erosion or denial of fundamental human rights. A form of Black feminist world-building, Frazier's nontraditional "monuments" demand recognition of the crucial role that women and people of color have played, and continue to play, in histories of labor and the working class.

Flimsy and doesn’t hold weight

Do not buy this. The frame this comes with is so small and flimsy. I didn’t even have anything on the shelves yet and they were falling off the wall. The wood is a beautiful color but the quality is awful.
I had different floating shelves on the same wall and I included a picture of the thick metal frame those came with, also from Amazon to show how flimsy this brand is.

Really nice shelves well-made

Look nice, not sturdy or supportive

The color and thickness of the shelf is great. Very easy to install. But the wall mount portion is cheaply made and doesn’t support the shelf as well as it should. Once mounted the shelf leans forward and isn’t sturdy. After mounting, I found my items had slid off end up on the floor.

Solid Floating Shelves 🛠️🏠

I have installed four sets of the black floating shelves in my office. They are made of high quality materials, featuring a sophisticated black woodgrain finish with a natural texture. Supposedly, each unit can handle up to 22 pounds, though I would not recommend testing that limit with your vintage bowling ball collection if you value your flooring. They are awesome.
The value is good for a set of two. Each shelf measures 22x7x1 (56x17x3 cm) inches, providing a decent amount of storage for books or decor. The installation was straightforward since the hardware for multiple wall types was included. They work well in the kitchen for spices or in the bedroom for personal belongings.
One tip for a secure fit: use a level during installation and make sure the bracket is flush against the wall before sliding the shelf on, or your photos might look like they are sliding off a mountain 📐
These shelves offer a clean, modern look and stay stable once mounted correctly. They are a practical choice for adding functional display space to any room 🖼️
