The M43 Field Cap became one of the most widely used pieces of head gear of WW2.  They had a slightly longer visor.

The contrast of the black and white is beautifully striking too, and the details are so dainty and crisp. I haven't noticed any shedding and its washability seems promising, but I'll update if I run into any problems in the future. Overall, I'm obsessed! It's gorgeous, functional, and a great value!
