Slingerland Artist Model 14"x5.5" Snare Drum - Sparkling Red (1965)We believe this to be a 1965 Artist model 14"X5. 5" 3 ply 8 lug snare drum in the Sparkle Red finish in very good used condition. We believe the shells to be the unimold maple poplar mahogany shell with solid maple inforcement rings. It was around this time that Slingerland switched to maple inner plys from mahogany. The stick saver hoops are brass and the muffler appears to be original. The Zoomatic strainer and butt plate are functioning perfectly.

The finish is in very good condition and there is no marks or damage on the chrome. All key rods are good. There is some checking on the inner maple ply as pictured. Batter head is Remo Ambassador Coated and bottom is Remo Snare Side Ambassador hazy. This is an excellent drum in very clean condition.
This is the model of Slingerland snare preferred by Neil Peart as his "Old Faithful" used from 2112 tour to the end of the Counterparts tour.
