Sculpted by a Yorkshire-based artist, the essence of a Barn Owl is captured in ‘Country Solitude’, embodying the curiosity, wisdom and beauty of the animal. The enchanting creature has been crafted meticulously in the true-to-size sculpture with every feather and delicate contour perfectly placed, conveying Winterburn’s deep understanding of the animal but his ability to bring bronze to life.
Steve has spent countless hours observing and photographing the owl, as the fields neighboring his workshop are a natural habitat for the animal. The dedication and love for the wildlife has allowed Steve to capture the owl’s spirit with remarkable authenticity.
Sculpted with strong and striking textures, the piece invites viewers to appreciate the ethereal presence of the nocturnal hunter. A testament to Winterburn’s mastery of bronze as a medium and his passion for wildlife, the sculptor’s ability to merge realism with movement has resulted in a unique creation.
In his own family-run foundry, Steve harnesses the timeless medium, bronze, which he reveres as 'eternal as diamonds'. Each step of the process is executed by hand at the foundry, from mold-making to finishing touches, ensuring the utmost authenticity and quality.
