A fitting tribute to one of Britain’s most inspirational wartime heroes, the Douglas Bader Triple Pack brings three iconic aircraft to 1/48 scale as part of Airfix’s Legends series. Bader’s story of determination, courage, and aerial skill continues to captivate enthusiasts, and this set commemorates the aeroplanes which defined his legendary career.

Joining the Royal Air Force in 1928, Bader’s early exploits in the Gloster Gamecock and Bristol Bulldog showed his natural flair for flying. After a tragic accident that led to the amputation of both legs, he returned to active service at the outbreak of the Second World War, flying both Spitfires and Hurricanes and achieving 22 confirmed aerial victories. His leadership and spirit inspired a nation during its darkest hours, culminating in a victory flypast over London, led personally by Bader in a Spitfire.

This set allows modellers to recreate the aircraft linked to Bader’s remarkable career in stunning detail.
