Kanto SPW3 Rear Mount Universal Speaker Wall Mount at Vinyl Sound Toronto Canada

The SPW3 is a pair of rear-mount universal speaker wall mounts from Kanto (Vancouver, Canada), available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. Designed for midsize to full-size bookshelf and satellite speakers, the SPW3 places speakers at the ideal listening height and angle through a full ball joint mechanism that provides smooth, precise tilt, swivel, and rotation in a single articulating joint. Built from cast aluminum for rigidity without excess weight, each mount supports speakers up to 12 lb and includes 1/4"-20 threading for secure attachment of compatible satellite and bookshelf speakers. Integrated cable routing channels speaker wire cleanly through the wall, a sleek two-part design conceals all mounting hardware for a clean finished appearance, and the universal rear-mount design is compatible with a wide range of home theater, stereo, and gaming speaker setups.

Ball Joint Articulation and Precise Speaker Aiming

The defining feature of the SPW3 is its full ball joint mechanism, which provides simultaneous tilt, swivel, and rotation adjustment in a single smooth-moving joint rather than requiring separate axes to be adjusted independently. This allows the speaker to be aimed precisely at the primary listening position regardless of where the mount is installed on the wall, compensating for asymmetric room layouts, off-center seating positions, and non-ideal wall locations without compromise. For home theater and surround sound applications where front, center, and surround speakers must all be aimed toward a single listening seat, the ball joint articulation of the SPW3 makes achieving a coherent, immersive soundfield straightforward. Once the correct aim is established, the locking mechanism secures the ball joint firmly in position, preventing any drift or movement during playback at any volume level.

Cast Aluminum Construction and Integrated Cable Management

The SPW3 is fabricated from cast aluminum, a material that combines the structural rigidity needed to hold a speaker at a fixed wall-mounted position with lower mass than an equivalent steel casting, making installation and adjustment less physically demanding. The aluminum construction also resists the sympathetic resonance that thinner or lower-density bracket materials can introduce when driven by the output of nearby speakers. The two-part mount design conceals all wall fixings and hardware behind the outer cover plate, producing a finished installation with no visible fasteners or brackets around the wall plate. Integrated cable routing channels speaker wire from behind the wall plate through the mount body and to the speaker connection point, keeping all cabling concealed within the mount and wall structure for a completely tidy installation in home theater and dedicated listening room environments.

Key Features

  • Full Ball Joint Articulation: A single smooth ball joint provides simultaneous tilt, swivel, and rotation adjustment, allowing the speaker to be aimed precisely at the listening position from any wall mounting location without separate axis adjustments.
  • Cast Aluminum Construction: Rigid cast aluminum build supports speakers up to 12 lb with structural confidence while keeping mount mass lower than equivalent steel designs, simplifying installation and adjustment.
  • 1/4"-20 Threaded Mounting Support: Built-in 1/4"-20 threading secures compatible bookshelf and satellite speakers directly to the mount for a fixed, rattle-free wall-mounted connection.
  • Integrated Cable Management: Speaker wire routes cleanly through the mount body and into the wall, concealing all cabling within the mount structure for a professional, hardware-free finished appearance.
  • Sleek Two-Part Concealed Hardware Design: The two-part wall plate design hides all mounting fasteners and hardware behind the outer cover, maintaining a clean, unobtrusive wall installation with no visible fixings.
  • Secure Locking Mechanism: Once the correct speaker aim is established via the ball joint, the locking system secures the position firmly, preventing drift or movement during playback at any volume level.
  • Universal Compatibility: Designed for midsize to full-size bookshelf and satellite speakers, with rear-mount attachment and 1/4"-20 threading covering the majority of speakers used in home theater and surround sound setups.
  • Suitable for Home Theater, Stereo, and Gaming: The combination of precise aiming, cable management, and concealed hardware makes the SPW3 a practical wall mounting solution for any serious listening environment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Kanto SPW3 speaker wall mount?

The Kanto SPW3 is a pair of rear-mount universal speaker wall mounts built from cast aluminum, featuring a full ball joint for tilt, swivel, and rotation adjustment, 1/4"-20 threading for secure speaker attachment, integrated cable management through the mount body, and a two-part concealed hardware design. Made by Kanto, a Canadian audio accessories brand based in Vancouver, the SPW3 supports midsize to full-size bookshelf and satellite speakers up to 12 lb per mount and is designed for home theater, surround sound, stereo, and gaming room installations in Toronto, Canada and across the country.

How does the Kanto SPW3 compare to the Kanto SPW1 or Sanus WSSATB wall mounts?

The Kanto SPW3 sits above entry-level fixed-angle wall mounts in the Kanto lineup by offering a full ball joint with simultaneous tilt, swivel, and rotation, rather than the limited single-axis tilt found on simpler bracket designs including basic models such as the Sanus WSSATB. The ball joint articulation of the SPW3 provides a degree of speaker aiming flexibility that fixed or single-axis tilt mounts cannot match, making it the stronger choice for asymmetric rooms, off-center listening seats, or installations where the wall location does not naturally face the primary listening position. The integrated concealed cable management and two-part hardware cover also produce a noticeably cleaner finished appearance compared to exposed-bracket alternatives at a similar load capacity.

What speakers are compatible with the Kanto SPW3?

The Kanto SPW3 is compatible with midsize to full-size bookshelf and satellite speakers that use a 1/4"-20 threaded mounting point on their rear panel and weigh no more than 12 lb per speaker. Compatible speaker brands include Klipsch, Polk Audio, Definitive Technology, Monitor Audio, KEF, and other manufacturers whose satellite and compact bookshelf models use the standard 1/4"-20 rear thread. For speakers without a 1/4"-20 thread, verifying the rear panel attachment options against the SPW3 mounting interface before purchasing is recommended.

What is a ball joint wall mount and why does it matter for speaker placement?

A ball joint wall mount uses a spherical pivot mechanism that allows the attached speaker to be rotated freely in any direction within the joint's range of motion, providing simultaneous adjustment of tilt, swivel, and rotation from a single point. Unlike two-axis mounts that require separate tilt and swivel adjustments to be made independently, a ball joint allows the speaker to be aimed at any point in the room in a single smooth movement. This is particularly valuable in home theater and surround sound setups where speakers must be aimed at a specific listening seat from wall positions that are not directly facing that seat, and where precise driver-to-ear alignment across multiple speakers is critical to achieving a coherent, immersive soundfield.

Can the Kanto SPW3 route cables through the wall for a clean installation?

Yes, the Kanto SPW3 features integrated cable routing that channels speaker wire from behind the wall plate through the mount body to the speaker connection point. This allows speaker cables to be run inside the wall cavity and exit cleanly through the mount without any exposed wiring along the wall surface. The two-part concealed hardware design covers the wall plate fixings, producing a finished installation with no visible fasteners, brackets, or trailing cables for the most professional possible appearance in home theater and dedicated listening room environments.

How many degrees of tilt and swivel does the Kanto SPW3 provide?

The Kanto SPW3 uses a full ball joint mechanism rather than separate fixed-increment tilt and swivel axes, providing continuous adjustment across the full range of motion available in the joint rather than locking into predetermined angle steps. This allows fine-grained pointing of the speaker toward the listening position without being constrained by fixed tilt increments. Kanto does not publish a specific degree figure for the SPW3 ball joint range, but the continuous adjustment design covers the full practical aiming range needed for the vast majority of home theater and stereo wall mounting scenarios.

Fun with a late blooming omega
Format: Kindle
I like this book. The story is fun, cute, and sexy. There's just a little drama, some excellent, steamy scenes, and a fairly good relationship building storyline. I especially like how all the main characters are a bit older than the usual 20 somethings I tend to see in this kind of book. Having said that, I wish there were more descriptions of the places, as well as the food in the fancy restaurant. I enjoyed the cocktails at the club, so I missed that kind of detail when Gray took Madison on a dinner date. I also wish there had been more interaction between Lucas and Madison, and Lucas and Rian. It felt a bit lopsided, with a focus on Rian, Madison, and Gray. I wish it had been proofread - there are a lot of typos, but nothing too distracting.

Madison Deserved Better
Format: Kindle
Madison was a beta...except she wasn't any longer. She was a late presenting Omega. And she was struggling. She was tall and thin, not tiny and curvy. She was opinionated. She was everything an Omega was not. After suffering through her first heat, her friends took her to Ardor, a club where Omegas came to safely find Alphas. She's not expecting much but then she connects with a sexy beta. And when she meets his Alphas, they set her body on fire. Maybe, she's found her no-strings-attached heat pack. Maybe, she's found something more. I could not connect with the characters in this book, so their story never resonated with me. And there was no love story; there was sex. Grey made it clear from the beginning that he had a true love and it was his beta boy, Rian. He went so far as to reassure Rian “Say the word, I’ll never touch her again. Lucas can put the babies in her. I only need you, beta boy”. So, Madison was there for babies, no emotions needed. Nice. No, thank you. I want the Omega to be the center of their world, not an incubator. Lucas and Rian weren't any better. After her heat, they let her leave. Not one of them made her feel valued. No one gave her a reason to stay or even offered a cuddle. And the sex didn't even come across as mind-blowing. Madison deserved better.

Pretty Darn Good
Format: Kindle
So I’ve been on a omega kick and this definitely hit the spot. Madison was frustrating at times with how she acted towards Lucas, Gray, and Rian. It was like she said towards the end, she didn’t believe she deserved nice things. It would have been nice to hear from her best friends again. They kind of were there in the beginning and the gone except for mention of text messages received from them. I feel like her friends would have been great help in encouraging Madison to go with the pack and never give Brent another chance because he was toxic. I loved Rian. His personality was awesome. His humor. His ability to make Madison comfortable whenever she was feeling overwhelmed. And the fact he fell for her and she fell for him first. They are cute together. I do feel like Lucas was the odd man out though. Like Lucas didn’t develop as much of a relationship with Madison. I would have really liked to see more development in the relationship between them. It was also the same with him and Rian. There is really no relationship displayed. Most of the relationship being displayed is between Rian and Gray. Nevertheless, I loved reading about the dynamic that came to fruition during the entirety of this story. Madison finally got her happiness. And Brent finally got punched in the face. Everyone got exactly what they deserve.
