 This beautiful pottery is the creation of Señor Eleuterio Piña. His style is immediately recognizable. When using white clay to build these ollas, any glaze applied to it, and etched through to the underlying white, will create wonderful sharp edges and pronounced details. As with most creations coming out of Mata Ortiz, this pottery also has a strong influence from the villagers ancient ancestors.
 Here is a hummingbird feeding from a flower. This image is repeated in three different 'windows'. Señor Piña very much loves depicting his native desert surroundings. A beautiful contrasting brick red and black collar highlights the top. This pattern is repeated around the hummingbird & flower images. It is formed from repeating Paquime feather patterns and geometric shapes that date back one thousand years ago. The eye catching white lines in the black and red are shapes inspired by the Ancients.
