During the golden age of aviation in the 1930s, many pilots had a Rolex Oyster watch on their wrist. The Air-King was born as a homage to the pioneers of that golden age.
Reference 14000 was released in 1990 and was produced until 2000 when a minor change model was released. This is a typical reference as an introduction to vintage Rolex.
The main reason for this watch is that while it follows a vintage design, it also has a sapphire glass crystal, making it highly practical.
The 34mm Oyster case, three hands without date display, smooth bezel and minimalist design are the Air-King's most distinctive features.
The dial is a silver dial with a sunray finish that has turned slightly ivory over time. It has aged very nicely.
The luminous paint on the dial and hands are both tritium.
The watch was serviced at Rolex Service Center in Japan in 2021. It has hardly been used since then and is in very good condition.
