This is the SL Benfica 2024/25 away shirt made by adidas, shown here with A. Carreras 3 on the back. It features a black base with bright red adidas stripes on the shoulders, red adidas branding, the Benfica crest with three stars in a tonal red finish on the chest, and Emirates Fly Better as the front sponsor. The shirt also carries full UEFA Champions League sleeve patches, including the UEFA Foundation badge, while the back includes SAGRES branding above the nameset. With A. Carreras 3 on the back, it becomes a player-linked version of one of Benfica’s strongest recent away designs.
The design feels much darker and more aggressive than Benfica’s traditional home identity, but that is exactly what makes it stand out. Rather than relying on a plain black base, adidas added a scattered, almost constellation-like tonal graphic across the shirt, which gives it movement and texture without overwhelming the overall look. The red detailing works especially well here, because it keeps the connection to Benfica’s identity while giving the shirt a sharper, more modern edge. The A. Carreras 3 nameset suits it well too, as the red-and-white print stands out clearly against the dark background and gives it the feel of a genuine match-issued European version.
This shirt is most closely associated with Benfica’s 2024/25 season, and the full Champions League patch set gives it extra collector appeal immediately. That detail matters, because it places the shirt directly within Benfica’s European campaign rather than as a standard domestic version. The A. Carreras 3 print adds another layer of specificity, tying it to a young player from the squad and making the shirt feel more distinctive than a blank version. For collectors of modern Benfica shirts, Champions League editions, or player-print shirts, it is a very strong current-era piece.
