Across bookstores and the Web, book series have been immensely popular - across all genres. If you're wondering what makes a series of books so popular with both publishers and readers or desire to write a series of your own, listen to The Ins and Outs of Writing a Series.

Guest speaker and author Lauren Willig discusses what it is that makes series so attractive to both publishing houses and fans. Going element by element, she dissects what goes into different types of series, examining the various ways in which stories are linked together, with particular attention to the way series type differs by genre. She also discusses what you need to know to write an open-ended versus a close-ended series, and the pros and cons of each approach.

Among the different types of series she discusses are: family or friend-linked, thematically linked, geographically linked, single protagonist, changing story, or single protagonist, ongoing story. When you listen to this 92-minute online instructional video, you'll learn the definitions, pros and cons of each series type, and examples of popular book series from today's markets.

Once you've chosen the type of series you want to write, it's time to get into world-building and character development. Willig talks about ways in which you can turn your world into a place your readers want to return to again and again, whether it's an Alabama police station or a Regency ballroom. What is it that draws people in and keeps them there? Learn how to make your characters your readers' ongoing companions. My puppy loves this chew toy.
Style: Goal Post Chew Toy, Color: Detroit Lions
It’s one of his favorite toys to show off and chew. I constantly find him carrying it around. The only downside is that the Lions emblem wore off really quickly. It’s still a super cool toy though.

Heavy nylon. No squishy or chewable for pups.
Style: Goal Post Chew Toy, Color: PHILADELPHIA EAGLES, Style: Goal Post Chew Toy, Color: PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
Photo is just for size comparison. It’s really hard and not chewable but he’s already put a dent into it, as you can see. Not sticky, smells right out of the packaging !! We loved that! Its size is about a 20 oz Powerdrink but it’s sturdy and heavy. It’s going to last us such a long time . The only thing is the logo might be worn off sometime soon. Go birds! 🦅

Perfect toy for an active dog!
Color: Large size (7.9")
My dog absolutely loves this ball with handles! It’s quickly become one of his favorite toys, and he gets excited every time we bring it out to play. The vibrant colors are a huge plus—they make it super easy to spot in the grass, which saves a lot of time during outdoor play sessions. The handles are great for interactive play too, especially for tugging and tossing. I’m really impressed with how well it’s holding up. Even with constant pulling, tugging, and rough use, it’s remained durable and hasn’t shown any signs of wearing out. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase—and if my dog could write reviews, it would definitely get his paw stamp of approval! 🐾

I have an English Springer Spaniel who is 1.5 yrs. She had this torn apart within the first 5 minutes. This is not for strong chewers!
