"I’ll have one of those, and one of those, umm . . . and two of them . . . umm, no, three of them, please? How much is that?"

Blurb:
In the follow-up to Eamon Donnelly's sold-out, out-of-print first title from 2018, The Milk Bars Book Volume II: A Sweet History goes beyond the closed shopfronts and back to where it all began. Documenting over a century of sweet memories, archival photography, advertising, packaging, signage, stories, and history, the book is split into chapters for each decade — from 1900 to now. Volume 2 is a 356-page celebration of family, food, community, advertising, and childhood memory — a visual feast chronicling what we used to have and what has slowly faded away.

Bio:
Eamon Donnelly is an award-winning illustrator [Cannes Lions, Clio, D&AD], photographer, designer, collector, publisher, and author of the acclaimed tome, The Milk Bars Book: Milkshakes, Memories & Mixed Lollies: Documenting Australia’s Colourful Corner Stores [2018] and the sequel, The Milk Bars Book Volume II: A Sweet History [2023]. Eamon’s unrivalled passion for all things milk bars and corner stores has made him one of Australia’s leading experts on the topic. In a career spanning over 20 years, Donnelly has worked in all facets of the creative industry; his work as a commercial illustrator has appeared in the pages of Rolling Stone, Playboy, GQ, and Billboard, and in campaigns for The Walt Disney Company, American Express, VH1, Red Bull, and Peters Ice Cream. He has spoken at design conferences and lectured in design, has made regular media appearances, and consults on productions about the history and culture of Australian milk bars, corner stores, ice cream, and confectionery; he also served as the history consultant on Back in Time for the Corner Shop, ABC TV, 2023.

Baki in English!
Format: Paperback
Long awaited! I started getting into Baki about five years ago and since then I've been fully caught up in the series, but I've always wished for volumes to be printed in English so I could have something official and to put on my shelf. As for the actual product, they did an amazing job putting together an amazing volume! High quality, easy to read, paper itself feels really nice, saw in the details it's actually printed in Japan, so that's cool. Cover is very striking, same for the spine, it'll stand out in your shelf. That being said, I'm so happy we finally got official Baki volumes in English, it's a dream of mine come true! Will be ordering more volumes.

Excellent volume
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
I love this volume. It was well done with high quality paper and also has the colored pages of the original Japanese version. I'm not a fan of slip covers, and i feel the same for this volume. The actual cover looks kinda plain and uninspired, but the slip cover looks great (it's done in the art style of later volumes). I do like the texture of the slip cover and i wish it was the actual cover- that's my only complaint. Besides the great paper quality, the pictures are very clean, i forgot how good the art actually is- it's much better on paper than online! The pictures i took don't do it justice! If you're a Baki fan (or if you like martial arts manga in general) i would definitely recommend.
