The Kenilworth bench is a classic park bench design. The contoured seat slats run side to side in the traditional manner. High straight slatted back rest for support, wide central slat. The scrolled arms further enhance the classic design, this combined with the softness of the teak, often results in an irresistible urge to stroke the arms.

The wide top rail and seat rail are designed with our CNC engraving in mind allowing 2 lines of 1 inch engraving on each rail. 

The wide leg profile of 70x55mm is a solid foundation for bench.

The bench is made of FSC certified plantation teak providing you with a long lasting, stable, strong but "soft to the touch" bench sourced from responsibly managed forests. Teak doesn't need to be treated, it ages beautifully to a silver colour.
 
The Kenilworth doesn't have any wood lamination. Lamination is used in the industry to reduce costs, it involves glueing pieces of wood together, like in the back leg at the angle or the wide top rail. We have seen examples of wood delaminating over time and avoid it on our own bench designs.

The main mortise and tenon joints are manufactured so that when the dowel is driven into place, the joint is pulled tight. With a properly constructed joint assembled in this manner, glueing is not required.

When you receive the bench, it will be fully assembled.

Engraving
This bench can accommodate 2 lines of engraving on the top and seat rails. The maximum number of carved letters is 55 characters on the first line and 55 characters on the second line (including spaces). This bench has unique feature in a wide central slat in the bench back, this is an ideal space for engraving clipart, logos, emblems, crests, insignia or further letter carving.

The V carved letters are typically 0.3inch/8mm deep, depending on the font type and size. This depth of carving takes a lot of machining time but the result is an inscription which is crisp, clear and readable. 

Choose how many lines of engraving you require, then type the inscription above the "Add to cart" button. Finally, select your font type from the drop down list and add it to cart. 

We offer free design proof, please choose this option if you require one. 

We aim to make the letters as large as possible, for example if you choose one line instead of three, then the letter height is likely to be larger.
