We have long been fans of the [extra: tension | minerality | acidity] that Oregon Chardonnay has over the sunny style that we have here in California. This Nova Ridge site called to mind the zippy tension that Saint Aubin Premier Cru wines have. The nose is quite taut and mineral with precise and delineated notes of lemon oil, apricot, exotic lime, saline and a lightest barrel spice. The palate has a great sense of tension/ minerality with wet stones, lemon oil, key lime, apricot, and delicate oak flavors. This would work beautifully for a Sunday Roast Chicken. - D&M Tasting Notes, MK June 2026
WINERY NOTES:
VINEYARD: “From Nova Ridge, Granville’s second estate in the Dundee Hills—named for a lone porch light that once illuminated the ridge across from our Holstein Estate. Grown at 840 ft elevation, this inaugural bottling reflects our family’s continued dedication to meticulous viticulture and pursuit of excellence in these storied hills we call home.”
VINTAGE: "The 2024 growing season marked a welcome return to normalcy. A mild spring with bud break in early April and tempered summer temperatures provided much-needed stability. Bloom occurred June 8th, with variable weather leading to shatter in exposed blocks, a natural thinning that concentrated the vines’ energy into exceptional fruit. Beginning September 3rd, harvest brought cool evenings that slowed ripening, extending hang time and allowing flavors to develop fully while preserving remarkable acidity. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay came in at a pH of 3.1-3.16, notably lower than previous years, signaling reduced vine stress and wines built for graceful aging. The result is a vintage of balance and vitality, wines that capture the rhythm of a season unfolding exactly as it should in a cool climate."
TASTING: “Electric and alpine with notes of pine duff, silver needle tea, beeswax, parmesean rind, hamachi crudo, and yuzu”
ELEVAGE: "Sur lie aged 11 months in barrel; 35% new French oak; partial malo-lactic fermentation"
CASES PRODUCED: 200
