This is caused by the weight shifting forward during hard braking, taking weight off the rear, and causing the rear to lock-up. The RN-type was developed with the concept of having perfect balance of initial and overall friction levels. The RN-type has high initial bite allows immediate braking, but the overall friction level is kept at a lower level to prevent lock-up. The RN-type helps stabilize the car at corner entry, also helps prevent the rear tires from locking-up. I purchased a new copy of this book. The new book comes with a code that provides online access to a some lab resources and also an E-book version that is searchable and has excellent content. I attached a screenshot of a section of the e-book. Definitely worth it! Provides values and guide to interpreting tests and implications as well as associated nursing diagnoses. This book was recommended for a clinical nursing class but not required. I think it is helpful for my other classes as well (pharmacology, pathophysiology). I think if you get it you will see how useful it is. I purchased the 10th edition, which was published 2023.
