By means of the cathedral steam whistle - operated via a small lever - sounds can be elicited from this engine during operation. Because the condensate is drained into a condensation water tray below the chimney, real "smoke" comes out
Please always make sure that the steam engine is not put into operation without sufficient water filling in the boiler, the water level must always be visible in the sight glass at least at the lower edge.
Tips for operating your Wilesco D14 power machine
Regular oiling is also necessary if there is no steam pressure in the boiler and the model has cooled down: To do this, unscrew the oil filler plug and pour in WILESCO steam engine oil, while you should turn the flywheel several times to suck in the oil. We recommend oiling the D14 every time you fill it up with fuel to prevent the piston from sticking. Experience shows that 2 - 3 drops of Wilesco steam engine oil are sufficient for approx. 10 minutes of operation. All bearings and joints should also be lightly oiled, so you ensure a long service life for your D14 and constant steam fun.
