The definitive biography and critical study of Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683-1764), this volume deals at length not only with the composer's musical achievements but also with aspects of his life and work that made him one of the most important cultural figures in eighteenth-century France. Fascinating incidents include his central position in a musical controversy that excited the enmity of Rousseau, Diderot, and the Encyclopedists; his friendship and collaboration with Voltaire; and his position as the author of a treatise on harmony that endured for two centuries. This critical evaluation focuses chiefly on Rameau's musical works, devoting entire chapters to his operas and ballets as well as his chamber music, cantatas and motets, and minor works. Additional topics include his links to Lully, his influence on Gluck, and the nature and importance of his acoustic and harmonic theories. Supplements include more than 300 musical examples, numerous useful appendices, indexes, an extensive bibliography, and a new Introduction by the distinguished musicologist and historian Philip Gossett.

Sooo soft! Like a cat you can pet whenever you want
I have hand disability along w peripheral neuropathy and I'm always in some degree of pain and i cannot differentiate much with my fingers up to my shoulders. Even with that i can tell it's super soft and my husband says it is too. I wake up a lot from pain and swelling in my hands. I also have to wait hours for my hands swelling to go down in order to get out of bed. My life is challenging! The feel of blankets like this one help soothe me a titch through comforting me. I'm glad i bought it and would buy more when needed. I definitely recommend this blanket BUT I have not washed and dried it yet: that will be the real test,as some get the fibers burned and they mat together then, but there's no way to fix it. Then it is relegated to cat blanket/ spare bed blanket, lol. When washing this type of blanket i don't use fabric softener or dry it with heat: both will mat it up. Air drying is best or do no heat . The coloring is gorgeous! I got the gray tie dye. It's soft like a cat you can pet when's you want to,too and it will never get annoyed with you 🙂!

Luxury!
I bought for this for someone in a nursing home. She absolutely loves it!! It is so soft! I am surprised how well it has held up because the nursing home uses very harsh detergent when they wash. It is still a delightful blanket!

You'll be hard pressed to find a more comfortable throw at a better price. I need to get to the couch quick, if I want dibs on this bad boy. My pups love it as well. Soft, light, and toasty warm. Pamper yourself.

So soft and snuggly!
I bought this throw in grey last week and I've only been able to use it once! Since my cats discovered how soft and snuggly it was, they've been laying on it! So, I just ordered another one for me, and this one I will not share!! And you certainly can't beat the price! Highly recommend!!

Good for the price
Love the feel of the blanket and the warmth. If you wash it regularly though, it will start to Matt a bit. Good price on it though
