Feld has composed works for all instrumentations and genres. But his particular interest has always lain in the wind instruments. The horn sonata created in 1989 is a rewarding piece for concerts and competitions. Written in a moderately modern tonal language, this piece full of brio consists of a fast first movement, a lyric second movement and a cheerful final movement which takes up the rhythmically changed theme of the first movement. Suited as advanced audition piece for 'Jugend musiziert'.
