Am Gaumen intensiv, reintönige, ziemlich saftige, reife Frucht, etwas Biss, sehr feines, mürbes Tannin, nachhaltig , gewürzige Noten, etwas Wacholder und Provencekräuter, getrocknet-florale Nuancen, gute Substanz, hat Kraft und Wärme, aber auch kühlende Elemente, gewisse Tiefe, tabakige Nuancen, ein Hauch Teer, recht komplex, sehr guter, saftiger und würziger Abgang.

Das Weingut
Château de Montfaucon gehört zu einem der besten Weingüter der Region. Die Weine halten konstant hohes Niveau und gehören zu den besten ihrer jeweiligen Kategorie im Gebiet. Gräfin Madelaine war die Nichte des Baron Louis und die Großmutter von Rodolphe de Pins, dem heutigen Besitzer von Château de Montfaucon. In Erinnerung an beide nannte er seinen Côtes du Rhône Blanc *Comtesse Madelaine* und seine rote Prestige Cuvée *Baron Louis*. "Meine Weine ähneln jenen von Châteauneuf du Pape, das sich gegenüber am rechten Rhôneufer befindet. Allerdings bemühe ich mich, sie weniger alkohollastig, dafür mit mehr Finesse und Eleganz auszubauen." sagt Rodolphe de Pins. Er legt großen Wert auf traditionelle Rebsorten aus der Region und nutzt die Traubenvielfalt der Côtes du Rhône, um gut ausbalancierte, finessreiche und würzige Weine zu erzeugen. Rodolphe ist kein Aufwand zu groß, die Qualität seiner Weine auf die Spitze zu treiben.

A familiar story, just with…..less.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
