About the work

This edition is a cinematic photograph of LAX - Los Angeles International Airport, and demonstrates Artlab's tendency to fuse styles and influences, here blending elements of documentary photography and romantic fiction. The edition was produced to accompany The Edge of The Real, an exhibition to showcase of the work of a younger generation of artists working in Britain in 2004 and which was presented to complement Raoul De Keyser's parallel exhibition at the Gallery.

About the artist

Artab is a collaboration between artists Charlotte Cullinan and Jeanine Richards - currently better know as Cullinan and Richards. They have been producing work together since 1997, combining influences and merging traditional practices such as sculpture, painting, film and photography to create and support connections and to question the role of individual authorship in art.

They were selected for the British Art Show 7 in 2010 and have exhibited at Tate Modern, London; the Courtauld Institute, London, M.O.T. Gallery, London; IBID Projects, Lithuania; Tramway, Scotland; South London Gallery and Hayward Gallery, London.
