Josef Myslivecek (1737-1781) also known as Il Divino Boemo (The Divine Bohemian) was one of the most celebrated opera composers in Italy in the 1770s. His instrumental works - symphonies, concertos, octets, quartets, and trios - were as popular as his vocal music. Certain features of his melodic style reflect his Bohemian origins, and Myslivecek's influence on his contemporaries was significant. A close friend of the young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and a musical influence on him, Mozart described Myslivecek's character as "full of fire, spirit and life." All nine of the Myslivecek violin concertos that survive in complete form were probably written in a short period during the late 1760s and early 1770s when the composer maintained close contacts with the city of Padua and the composer and violinist Giuseppe Tartini. As a representative of Italian traditions that extended back to the early eighteenth century, Myslivecek's violin concertos are all cast in three movements of the pattern 'fast-slow-fast'. "From this music one can hear that the author was also a superb opera composer: the quickly alternating themes are well defined in character, whether sounding serious or boisterous, pleading or alluring, questioning or majestic, friendly or imperious. This item came with plush missingand thread unraveling on one leg

I bought this toy because my dog spent a week playing with the same toy from Zanies that belonged to a visiting dog. My dog was very gentle with this toy, which he loved, so we decided to find one for him. The toy that arrived had no Zanies label and missing plush on the bottom where the label should have been, plus other bare spots in the area that showed the white mesh beneath. It also had a long thread at the joint of a rear leg so I knotted it at the joint and clipped it to prevent my dog from pulling at it but it's apparent that the sewing is loose and wont last long. The color was also much lighter than the toy he'd been playing with that belonged to the guest dog but I figured it might just be from a different dye lot (it was not bought at Amazon but their local pet store.) I am not convinced this is a real Zanies toy. There were two labels in French and it said it was made in China. I am returning this toy and will get a replacement and see how it looks. If it seems like it will fall apart or is not the real thing I will return it immediately. If it has a label and is in good shape and sewn well at the seams I'll revise this review.

Fantastic Dog Toy!!!

This is a great toy!!! My dog has lots of toys. But one of the problems is he has trouble getting the squeaker to squeak. He's an 18 lb terrier mix, and those squeakers are just elusive. Breaks my heart.
This one, though, the squeakers (there are two) are in small areas (head and tail), that are easy for him to get his whole mouth around and squeak. They also don't move, which also makes them easy to squeak.
So he's been squeaking up a storm since he got this!
Other plusses:
* The material is great (soft, furry material, that seems to be of good quality).
* The toy expands and contracts, which is fun.
* It's pleasant to look at.
All in all, I'd say this is one of the best dog toys I've ever bought for my dog. Highly recommended!

Great Toy in Spite of Everything.

My dog is a border collie. She loves chewing, fetching, tug of war and catch. The first day we had this toy she chewed off two of the feet. I didn't give it much of a life span. Two weeks later she chewed off a third foot. Miraculously no stuffing was exposed. It has now been a month and the toy is still going strong, albeit with one foot! She loves it.
It is now June 1st. It has been almost three months and I am retiring the toy. It no longer has any feet and the tail has been ripped open and stuffing is coming out. All in all I think I got my money's worth from this toy. I ordered another one. She still loves it!

Awesome, but not the best squeakers.

I bought the orange gecko for my 5-month-old Corgi puppy. He absolutely loves it. He came up with a "game" (sort of) where if I pick it up and start squeaking one of the ends/squeakers really quickly over and over, he'll grab the other end/squeaker and start doing the same thing with me. It was really cute until one of the squeakers stopped working about a week after I bought it... but I guess the toy wasn't too expensive, and he doesn't really seem to mind that one of the squeakers doesn't work anymore. I might buy another next time I do an Amazon order (so I can get the free shipping) and see if it lasts a little longer.
