Two independent talents, both completely self-sufficient choosing to come together and see what happens, to let the muses mingle and share the results with the rest of us. What we have here, however, is not some quick jam caught on tape but a long distance collaboration carefully put together over three years. The result is something that gives us a broad overview of the two talents spotlighted here, showcasing many different moods, sounds and styles. Created like an exquisite corpse story they sent each other music to work on with no instructions or suggestions, just some inspiring mix tapes of everyone from Duke Ellington to Harry Patch. They clearly found their way. As well as her own music (which ended up on Pitchfork's best of 2015 list), Delphine runs the excellent Wild Silence record label. As well as being a solo artist, Mocke has played with the likes of Arlt, Holden and Midget! On this record, Mocke plays the guitar and Delphine sings and plays everything else. He's one hell of a guitar player, bringing to mind Loren Connors, John Fahey and anyone who ever took a six string and mastered it their own damn way. Delphine sings sweetly, sometimes from classic texts or as a glossolalia (divinely expressing without words), though to a non-French speaker you would swear was some lost classic pop song reinterpreted in her own style. Both Delphine and Mocke are originally from Paris but both have long since left, Mocke for Brussels and Delphine for the deepest French countryside. That difference can be found in their music. Mocke's music is urbane with a touch of inner-city paranoia. Delphine's music always sounds isolated in a big landscape. They complement each other as opposites. Like all Okraïna releases, the stunning artwork is by Gwénola Carrère and I can't think of anyone better suited to try and encapsulate this stunningly varied and vivid album. The title does not translate to English as it is a poetic corruption of a common phrase. I think something similar happened to common music on this album." This is a fabulous LIGHTWEIGHT blanket exactly as advertised!
This blanket is exactly as described, it is LIGHTWEIGHT meaning it is thinner and cooler than some of the other Berkshire lines of thicker heavier blankets.
I have purchased at least 20 Berkshire blankets/throws for myself and for gifts because they are the absolute best quality at a seriously reasonable price. They are so soft and comfy and they will survive years of regular use and washing.
This one is a gorgeous deep purple and is the perfect weight for our recent 85+ degree days in March with nights that still need more than a sheet but less than a comforter. It measures true to size after a thorough wash/dry cycle and I have had zero shedding issues so I’m not sure what other buyers are doing but please wash your blankets before using them.
The photos show this gorgeous purple in a twin size next to a twin “Ombré Burgundy classic heavyweight” (omg go check that one out) and you can see the purple one is just about half the thickness of the other one which is exactly what I wanted for the hotter summer months coming up.
If you want a thicker blanket, Berkshire makes a lot of them, just look for the ones marked “HEAVYWEIGHT” instead of going through the hassle of returning a blanket that is clearly advertised as a “lightweight soft fuzzy plush blanket or throw” and then getting mad because you got a lightweight soft fuzzy plush blanket or throw 🤣

Beautiful quality, huge, cozy, love it!

I really love this blanket. This blanket is super soft and has a velvety feel to it! It is so comfy! The quality is excellent, it feels beautiful and does not feel cheap at all! I love laying on it and the soft texture, it’s so soft and cozy. It has a nice weight to it but it is not too heavy. It’s very warm. This blanket is honestly huge and that’s the reason I bought it. I bought it for the size. I wanted something large enough to protect my new couch until my dogs learned to stay off of it. They would come in from outside being really excited and jump on the couch, this blanket helps to protect my couch. It does not fall off because it’s large enough to completely cover from the floor to the back behind my couch and my couch is more of an oversized. This blanket washes beautifully, it looks the same as it did when I first bought it after washing. I washed on cold and when I dried I did low heat. I ordered the blue and the color is very nice. I got a great price on this blanket when I bought it, the blue was on sale. I would definitely buy again! I am very happy with it!

Soft, even airdried.

I needed a larger, better match in color to protect my sofa from our pets. It is very soft even after hanging to dry. It dries very quickly. It did not shed in the wash. If you plan to machine dry keep in mind the fact that no or low heat is necessary. The color worked out for my needs. I recommend it.

Soft, velvety and very pretty.
Happy with this blanket. A bit thin, but I use it for layering so it is perfect for that. The color is a deep, rich purple. Which can be hard to find. Does not shed at all and feels very comfortable against the skin.
