The Tamiya 1/35 Sd.Kfz.222 North Africa (35286) reproduces the light German armoured car in its North African configuration — fitted with the tropical modifications and desert camouflage scheme used by the reconnaissance units of Rommel's Afrika Korps. The 222 served extensively in the long-range desert reconnaissance missions that gave German commanders crucial intelligence about Allied movements and positions across the vast empty spaces of Libya and Egypt.
The North Africa scheme provides distinct and attractive painting options compared to European-theatre versions, with the warm sand yellows and earth tones of the desert campaign.
Kit highlights:
- Sd.Kfz.222 in North Africa tropical configuration
- 20mm autocannon and distinctive wire mesh turret screen
- DAK and Africa Corps marking options
- Desert tan and camouflage painting options
- Ideal companion to Tamiya's other Afrika Korps vehicle kits
Please note: Cement and paints required, sold separately.
