This metal badge measures just over 1 ½ inches (38mm) in diameter and has a gilt finish. This is a large, round, bronze finished metal badge with handsome red enamel eagle on the obverse. The gold swastika is superimposed over a white target. The date, 1943, is seen around the target with the word "PISTOLE" at the bottom. This badge would be awarded to the winner of the competition in the pistole shooting category. These badges could be worn on the lapel of the jacket but also interestingly they could also be worn on cap band of the traditional Tirolian Mountain hat. The reverse has a pin which functions properly. This is in very good condition.
