Create Precision 9/16" Deep Slots and Professional Joinery with Industrial-Grade Efficiency
The Freud 63-108 Slotting Cutter Set is the professional woodworker's choice for producing fast, razor-sharp grooves and slots in hardwood, softwood, plywood, and wood composites. Engineered for maximum versatility, this set is ideal for critical joinery tasks such as installing T-moldings, creating high-strength spline joints, and milling classic tongue and groove designs. The 3-wing cutter design provides a balanced, vibration-free operation that ensures a superior finish even in the most demanding materials.
Constructed with Freud TiCo™ High-Density Carbide, the 63-108 delivers exceptional heat resistance and stays sharp significantly longer than standard steel or low-grade carbide bits. To protect against resin buildup and friction, the cutter is treated with Silver I.C.E. (Industrial Cooling Element) coating, which maintains a lower cutting temperature and facilitates efficient chip evacuation. Whether you are using a CNC machine, a table-mounted router, or a handheld setup, this complete set provides the stability and precision needed for professional-grade results.
Key Features
- Industrial Precision: Produces perfectly clean 9/16" deep slots for T-moldings, splines, and tongue & groove joints.
- TiCo™ High-Density Carbide: Specialized Freud micrograin carbide offers extreme durability and an extended cutting life.
- Silver I.C.E. Coating: Advanced coating prevents heat buildup and protects against corrosion and resin "pitch" accumulation.
- Anti-Kickback Design: Built with safety in mind to reduce the risk of kickback during heavy-duty routing.
- Multi-Machine Compatible: Optimized for peak performance in handheld, table-mounted, and CNC router applications.
- Shear Angle Technology: Multi-axis grinding ensures a burn-free, splinter-free finish in all wood types.

Pro-Tip: When routing slots for T-molding, ensure your router is set to a speed that matches the 16,000 RPM limit of this bit. To achieve the cleanest results, keep the router moving at a steady pace—pausing in one spot can cause heat buildup and localized burning on the material edge.
