The practice of baptism remains a hotly debated issue in the modern church and many scholars have used early church practice as evidence for their own views. As a result of misleading accounts gleaned from modern secondary works, many Christians have been left confused and with unanswered questions on the subject. Responding to the need for Christians to read the primary texts for themselves, the authors have compiled a valuable sourcebook of the writings, art and tombstone inscriptions of the Church Fathers which is objective, scholarly and accessible to all.

______________

Professors Stander and Louw are recognized authorities in the field of Patristic studies. Professor Stander is currently head of Greek at the Department of Ancient Languages at the University of Pretoria (South Africa) and has written over 400 books and articles. Professor Louw was also head of Greek at the University of Pretoria until his retirement and has published around 120 articles and books.

______________

‘In this book two South Africa paedobaptists survey the writings of the early church and conclude that credo baptism was the common practice of the early church until the fourth century when paedobaptism began to be accepted. Though not as detailed as Everett Ferguson's survey, Stander and Louw do give a good survey of the evidence. They also often provide lengthier quotations of the primary sources than Ferguson does.’ Brian Collins

Pretty funny
Format: Hardcover
The book gives us a more focused outlook on Chieg Wiggum. Full of its funny moments, I`d recomend this to huge Simpsons fans as it seems the shows writers managed to give us another hit.

Not the best, but not the worst either
Format: Hardcover
By any means not the funniest book in the series, only the one on Krusty the Clown was more un-funny; but still a worthy addition to your collection and, just like all the others from the series providing a retrospective of anecdotes you might have forgotten.

Not that great
Huge "The Simpsons" fan. I watched all the episodes and read a lot of the comics and enjoy most. This one however was quite boring. Turns out I'm just not a big fan of Chief Wiggum. I really enjoyed The "Homer" and "Bart" book. But not this one. Maybe if you love Wiggum you'll love it. If you're not too fond of him then I wouldn't buy it.
